A fantastic gem offering Michelin star dining in a tiny fishing village near St Andrew's in the Kingdom of Fife Scotland. The food is delectable and in some cases inspiring. Chef Billy earns every accolade and star with sophisticated rustic flavors (ox tongue, mussels, venison, cheese). Dont be afraid of unusual ingredients- it's a symphony that pleases on every level. A must try for the foodies living I or visiting Fife. My only suggestion is to put a bit more aged wine on the list for the classic grapes. Our selection of a 2010 French merlot based Bordeaux blend was great, but it was the last bottle in that vintage. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The service gets an A. If you can book a table GO, dont look at the menu and let Chef amaze you. Congratulations Billy and staff. You've got a winner!

A hidden gem! From North East England and travelled up to the Cellar on the back of a few friends reviews. I'm glad we mad the effort! An absolutely amazing restaurant tucked away in a lovely fishing town. The food is some of the best I've ever had! The restaurant atmosphere is brilliant, not too big but big enough to feel like you've got your own space. The team are brilliant and very knowledgeable about their craft. The whole coast line is stunning, my only regret was not staying in the area for longer! Will definitely be going back at some point!

Anstruther is known for its fish and chips. But The Cellar should rightly take its place as number 1. Scotland's lucky to a have a good larder and the Cellar puts those ingredients to great effect. Every plate on the tasting menu was enjoyable and full of flavour. Matched wines completed and complemented each course. The restaurant setting adds to the ambiance and the staff ensure you'll enjoy your experience at ease.

Visited the cellar yesterday as a party of three travelling 80 miles on arrival we were advised we had to pre book if we required vegetarian option which we did not realise when booking ,after explaining to server that one of the party required vegetarian he said he would need to speak to the chef. We were then advised there was absolutely nothing could be offered to the vegetarian as there was only 3 chefs in the kitchen and they were very busy leaving one of our party left sitting in a so called Michelin restaurant without eating. The restaurant is very small and actually there was 10 diners while we were there.we have eaten in many 1 and 2 Michelin restaurants and in comparison this does not come near to a Michelin category.

I cannot believe in this day that you cannot have a vegetarian choice without pre booking .in my view never the standard of a Michelin restaurant. The monk fish dish was the only dish that was good , many ingredients named in dishes but very tasteless food. What a bad experience leave one of our party without offering any alternative to eat left sitting feeling uncomfortable, Would never return to this restaurant it states on google review they are vegetarian friendly very...

Have been to this restaurant more than once since it opened and have to say that our experience this weekend was amazing.

The Restaurant is labelled as Wine &Tapas but it is much more than tapas. Scottish ingredients all "hyper - local"

A few traditional small items such as olives, chorizo etc. to choose from. A wider range of To Start plates and a few larger plates, fish, chicken, beef, mutton etc.

For us our spend was about £35 on food per person and 25 for drinks and we left feeling tipsy. (12 pints, wine and soft drinks).

As a local resident it is extremely disappointing that there are not more restaurants available at this standard with fresh ingredients and local produce.

So many restaurants have depreciated so much in the last few years as they turn to pre packaged lasagne and frozen chips.

Many places in Fife / St Andrews are aimed primarily at tourists--- they can be very expensive for mediocre food which is a shame as fife and Scotland have such great 🍖, 🍅 🐑 🥕.

The cellar is a breath of fresh air and has a good mixture of local residents, foreign tourists and...

Our first time at this restaurant was late last year, and it was amazing — delicious tapas, great quality ingredients, and even the Spanish chef came out to chat with us about food from Spain (which we absolutely love and visit whenever we can).

But this time… wow, what a disappointment. What happened to that fantastic tapas menu where everything sounded so good you didn’t know what to order first because you wanted it all? Now it’s no longer a tapas place — the menu is small and kind of boring.

We asked the waitress a couple of questions about the dishes, but she didn’t seem to know much — not sure if it was nerves or lack of training. The only things worth mentioning were the croquetas and patatas bravas. Everything else was either greasy or just badly done, nothing like the tasty, fresh dishes we had the first time.

On top of that, we found it pretty expensive for what we got.

It honestly makes me sad to write this, because the place itself is beautiful, and the village is lovely, but unfortunately, none of us who went for dinner that night feel like...
