We arrived here today around 5.15, We waited at the door and was asked if we had a reservation we advised no, 7 of us for food having been here before on a few occasions this was my choice.
What a disappointment - Staff were cold and awkward, Awkward mainly being because of my 1 year old son yes 1 year old.. he's a big boy but he's only1! Lucas Can't talk, and can only say Dada. I'm sorry he offended/Embarrassed you all so much.
We advised 7 of us clearly they can see we require a high chair no we to ask for a high chair.. Put my son in this after settling my daughter in to her chair. My son then proceeded to be grumpy, knocked pencils off the table swiped his picture away from him and tried to grab the cutlery, Some fallng on the floor to make a noise.. so hes screaming and a women out of nowhere placed a toy in front of him as if to say here have this SHUT UP! never worked.. I thanked her anyways even though it annoyed me who even does that with out asking if he would like a toy not just plank it in front of him out of no where.
Ordered drinks waiter was okay, my boy was still unsettled and making noise - then waiter comes from behind him arm in front of his face and planks his juice in front of him again as if to say SHUT UP.. this soon was pushed to the side and swiped to the floor where I proceeded to pick this up.
Ordering starters the waitress was cold not very informative regardless of what noise my son was making they wasnt interested what so ever rolling there eyes at each other tussing and even sighing.. IF you the man reading this that was sat with a women up the back shame on you for your passing of judgement. while waiting for starters and kids mains my sister takes my little boy outside to try settle him a little to maybe ease the judgement.
My boys meal came... he sat nicely and stuffed his face.. soon became bored he made noise grabbed at the things in the table which should of been removed as the tables are that small and cramped. Again eyes rolled, tussing and looks from all the staff made me feel uneasy and unwelcome my main had already been order and I was waiting on this coming out.. Not that I got to eat it.. Went in the bin after they stuck it in a container.
While my family sat having there Tea I was out side with my son walking back and forth water front splashing in puddles and listening to the thunder and watching for the lightning.. (MUCH MORE FUN THAN IN THERE!
£105.85 Spent on average food, Poor customer service and a horrible atmosphere never in my life have I ever felt so uneasy unwelcome or judged by anyone than you guys at the Water Front! If my boy wasn't welcome then I don't want to be the only reason my family stayed is because I told them too they were hungry I can live i'm happy as long as my kids are happy, I personally wouldn't of stayed at all Id of left entirely - Instead of just loitering playing outside with my son while his family ate.
Shame on you guys - I definitely won't be back and I can ensure you neither will the family member I was with.
Like I have stated above HE is 1 years of age and can not communicate using word so we get noises. Shame you're all so judgemental.
I Will also be raising a complaint to Green...
Read moreFollowing a lovely previous stay for myself and my husband, my parents and in laws were due to arrive today for a 2 night break using up a Christmas present. My mother in law phoned to change the date because of the severe weather conditions and was told that they would incur a £60 PER COUPLE surcharge to change the date to another off peak date even though police Scotland have advised against travelling unless completely necessary!! Totally disgusted. I commented on a post from them and they have now deleted my comment and blocked me, that looks great for you waterfront hotel!!! NANCY CALLAGHAN REVIEW: Shame on you The Waterfront...disappointing action The Waterfront are taking in this instance...well said Elaine Callaghan / Paul Callaghan. Both couples very reluctantly followed the advice issued by Police Scotland not to travel as they were really looking forward to staying at the hotel this weekend as a well earned break was needed..and quite frankly Waterfront your recent post at an attempt of an apology is also poor. To take the action to block my niece Elaine Callaghan is really unprofessional! People are entitled to their views and have a right to express them...hence REVIEW! I agree too with Cathleen McCarthys review that the best form of advertising is word of mouth...particuarly in this situation. Therefore I am happy to share this post. I would recomend both couples to seek a full refund and take their business elsewhere where it will be appreciated...shame on you Waterfront. The custmer has been completely forgotton...
Read moreOur first visit to the Waterfront Chippy. We visited during the week in the middle of the Summer season.
Anstruther was very busy, so was the Waterfront.
C19 regulations were still in place so queuing outside with one at a time in the shop. The queue wasn't too bad, one of the staff was on hand with a mobile ordering system so things were moving fairly quickly.
Unfortunately this is where my only concern is regarding the Waterfront, as someone who has worked the fryers for years, I can understand the fast turn around (it is a fast food shop!). We ordered various items, Fish Supper, cheeseburger, and Nuggets for Mr fussy.. In general the food was good, at first taste the fish and chips looked and tasted good. Unfortunately due to the fast turn around the chips could have used a few more minutes frying, and the fish was very greasy, more so than expected. (this can either be the oil used/ fish used/ or the heat of the fryers and due to the speedy nature not enough time to drain the fish before serving.)
Huge plus has to be the chippy sauce!
Cold drinks were just cans of pop or flavoured water, no bottles.
The price was on the higher side of average, though its a busy seaside town so higher prices tend to be the norm'.
With the layout of the town, the addition of outside seating is a bonus (though when it's really busy it can be a bit overwhelming).
Staff were all friendly.
Would like to visit during a quieter time for...
