The Coffee House — Restaurant in Scotland

Nipped in today for brunch before travel. It made me wish i would have sticked with Subway.

Ordered scrambled eggs with bacon and iced coffee. My partner had a sandwich and filter coffee.

Seating wasn't very comfortable and food and service was underwhelming.

My iced coffee was extremely bitter despite asking them to put sugar in it and also had a weird aftertaste. No offer to swap it for something else when I waved someone over.

The scrambled eggs were tasteless, also little to no condiments on the table to season it with. When i asked for more pepper as the pot on the table was empty, i was given another empty pot. The bacon was cooked but the fat on the side was still quite chewy, could have used just another minute or two. The toast pre-buttered was turning already soggy but the bottom slice seemed to have soaked up a lot of water making it soggy. The only way for that is watery scrambled eggs cooked in microwave.

No check backs, no asking if we're okay, not even an attempt to clear out plates away when we stacked them on the corner of the table. The napkins were also flimsy little things, can be easier called bad quality toilet paper than napkin.

Unfortunate as we were looking forward for a nice start for a long day ahead but it had...

We ordered two "Breakfast bacon rolls", and two flat white coffees. The rolls arrives, two flat, soft little things, with two small, tough pieces of bacon in them. Sachets of foul tasting sauce were provided. The flat whites were mainly froth. £4. 00 for a flat little "breakfast roll". We should have just went to Greggs, and the "coffees" were in totey little cups! Small portions, and overpriced. The bill came to about £17!! For two people! (My partner paid it, but he was still kind enough to give a tip! I wouldn't bother)! Also, why was an older woman/Staff member staring at me? She kept looking at me,and watching me!! People...

Very disappointed as came here for a spontaneous lunch with my family.. we all had toasties, served "with salad" When the food arrived, there was barely any side salads and about three individual crisps on the plate. To make things worse, we were thrown a piece of paper half way through eating our food and to our shock it was the bill.. we did not ask for this and therefor felt like we were being kicked out. We would have ordered coffee and cakes after our lunch but with this welcome, we decided to finish our lunch and leave. Feel customer service and communication can be worked on a little more here.
