We had an horrible experience having our Christmas meal earlier in Craig Dhu. Meal orders has been passed on a couple of weeks before Christmas day to make things more convenient. We also paid for deposit which we didnt mind at all. Arrived 3pm and starters came out about 4pm and by 4:40 ish we asked for our Mains to be serve and expressed our frustration. Why are we frustrated? Because we had 3 children with us! Children starters wasn't even served during this period and 1 adult starter. We are not asking for a 5 star service but only simply asking for the basic standard service "Is for the children to be served first". Mind you the rest of the other table has no children. A lady went to our table and wasn't even accommodating at all. While we are trying to explain the situation. She simply replied that if we are not happy with the service she can kick us out of the place. Came to the table with no apologies or follow up but instead it was a confrontational moment. She even mentioned we are serving 18 tables today and that they are working on Christmas day!!!! Ok we get it but if you can't handle the situation then dont accept our money/booking. Also if you're working for Christmas that is not our problem. You accepted the shift and you took our money so we expecting decent service from you. The service could have been mended quickly or easily but instead the people who served us had the audacity to say they can kick us out. That's was poor!!!! Never going back to this place it was...
Read moreI have a complaint about the chef at the Craig dhu pub in paisley. I don't know what his name is but he is bald wears a white chefs jacket and has an aberdonian accent. Head chef I presume. Me and my friend were in for a meal tonight at this pub n I had ordered the chicken ham and leak pie. He had gotten the mixed grill.
My sauce was all watery in the pie tasted off and vinegary the chips were burnt and the veg was hard. It tasted disgusting. At one point I left the pub and went round the side as I thought I was going to be sick. My friends mixed grill the steak was well done when ordered rare he was chewing it for a long time as it was rubbery and tough. The egg was burnt. The gammon was greasy and at one point he thought he was going to be sick as well. He has to spit a part of the steak out as he could not eat it. We have givin this pub many chances and the benefit of the doubt when food is concerned. But this is by far the worst meal from there. This chef needs terminated from his position as he clearly cannot cook. He is lazy and always just standing behind the bar looking at people with a growling face. And judges people supporting a different football team then his own.
I have never written a complaint before but this is too far now he needs to be gone. He is lucky to call himself a chef. Never...
Read moreNice pub, great staff... Shame about the food! I visited as part of a family group of eight. I ordered steak pie on the recommendation of the waitress and I honestly wish I hadn't bothered. The pie arrived in a soggy heap on the plate with overcooked chips and broccoli all swimming in a puddle of gravy, with an additional pot of gravy dumped on the plate too. It had clearly been microwaved as the pastry was like wet cardboard... but was lukewarm at best. On the plus side, at least I had the sea of gravy to soften the rock hard chips. The only reason I didn't complain was we were in a rush to go to a show at Paisley Abbey and didn't have time to wait for more food. Some other family members had issues with their food too so I really wish we had said something at the time. ☹️👎 Edit* The manager contacted me personally and after my review, we had a lovely chat and she sent me some vouchers as recompense for our bad experience. Thanks...
