This review was heading for a 5* until the end of my experience in the restaurant. On booking our table the evening before it was a good start with a very pleasant woman on the phone confirming our booking. We booked for 6pm but we arrived just after 5:45pm but were seated no problem despite being early. Now on to the food which i have to say was superb and so good i was planning a return visit very soon. Now here is where it went wrong. When i checked our bill i find out we had been charged a la carte prices despite when ordering we had the pre-theatre menu in our hand and making it very clear to the server who i believe was new that it was the pre-theatre menu i was ordering from. When i disputed this is was told at first maybe were were in too late for the pre-theatre but we were seated almost 45 minutes before the pre-theatre menu ended then we were told that it was the a la carte menu we had ordered from so we got a la carte portions so insisted i pay the amount that was on the bill. I said i didnt ask for a la carte i clearly ordered off the pre-theatre menu and i said check the cctv to check but the manager insisted i pay the bill. It's not the £13.80 we were over charged which is the upsetting thing it's the fact we were being accused of being dishonest. If i wanted to be awkward and dishonest i would have complained about the food. I was really looking forward to return here as the food and service was honestly brilliant. The chicken pakora is as good as i have tasted and my lamb South Indian Garlic Chilli with garlic nan was also as good as i have tasted. I have since been told i am on cctv ordering from the a la carte menu with is 100% not true. It was a very sour ending after everything went so well. As i said at the start had i been charged the correct amount i would have given a 5* review not...
Read moreWe have booked this place many times before and always had lovely food and service hence why we have always returned, however not so sure we will be back after the service we received from a lady claiming to be the owner. We had paid a cash deposit of £40 for the table, there was supposed to be 6 of us, but one member couldn't make it due to Covid. We had eaten our starters and the owner lady came to clear our plates and announced that instead of £40 being deducted from our bill only £30 would come off due to the person who didnt turn up. We then argued that she should have pointed that policy out upon booking. We had only just found out ourselves that one of our party couldn't make it! She then proceeded to lie by telling us she did explain this policy when the booking was made. NO it most definitely was not as it was me who made the booking I can assure that no policy was explained. In fact the deposit was initially £30 on the first phone call, then I called back to pay and it jumped to £40 then because it was cash deposits only we had to pay in the restaurant and it jumped to £50 when we went into the restaurant to pay. We didnt have the £50 so £40 was accepted. The fact the owner lady made out we were lying made matters worse. When the bill arrived they had for some reason made the right decision and deducted the £40, so thanks for that, however a wee word of advice the customer is never wrong and we will not be returning. I've just read quite a few unhappy customer reviews regarding the owners attitude. Please learn the difference between an abusive customer and a frustrated one, we were the latter!.....Response to your response...more lies I see that's fine cause your business will not last if you keep treating your customers this way. Have...
Read moreOrdered a butter chicken curry through the website last night (12th of August) instead of just eat (huge mistake) I ate around half the curry when a bit of chicken had an odd texture I then cut in to that piece and a few others to find it pink and RAW on the inside. I have been up all night being sick.
I contacted the restaurant as soon as they opened today (13th of August) and spoke with a manager. When I advised that I was served raw chicken and now was sick because of it he said it wasn’t possible as you “can’t undercook chicken tikka” which is a lie, any chicken can be undercooked. He then said as it was my first order through the website I wasn’t a “valued customer” and wouldn’t be getting a refund. He then said I could have ordered that from another restaurant or cooked the chicken raw myself then put it in their curry sauce which is just ridiculous. I send over the pictures to their email address to which he showed the chef and who said “leg pieces are very difficult to cook, not all chicken will be perfect some bits will be pink” took no responsibility or even apologised once during the call. Offered me £9 back from the curry but i refused.
Customer service is absolutely appalling, I have been a customer through just eat for over a year and have never had a bad meal. Never again.
I have since contacted food safety standards & Renfrewshire council. Positing this so it doesn’t...
