Pure quality. From the breads through to the sweet treats every single item looks absolutely amazing and tastes every bit as good as it looks. The time and effort put into every product really shows and there are always new things to tempt us. This place is a real wee gem!

A hidden gem. Duck into the Brae and join the queue if it's busy. Always worth it for the most amazing sourdough bakes, sweet and savoury Danishes and indulgent bakes. The menu is ever changing and the flavour combinations (like 99 ice-cream cruffins!) are incredible.

Fine artisan and craft bakers, off main street. Delightful young lady in charge, enjoyed the banter as well as the products. Sadly no whisky cake, but still five stars. (Not the one star I threatened jokingly). Worth seeking out.

An amazing find! Stumbled across this place walking from car park across the river when looking for lunch prior to a walk in hills around Peebles. Attracted in by the name my discerning mate visiting from Oz did the buying whilst I waited outside with the dog. We tried a few things (chilli and cheese bread, rosemary focaccia and doughnuts) with no knowledge of prior reviews. All were brilliant and the doughnuts in particular were to die for although with so much jam some finger licking afterwards required. We were so taken with it we organised our walk the next day out of Peebles only to discover it is only open every other day (never mind the butchers/bakers on the main street is...

OMG! We went here today for some bread and found out they also make bagels. My husband is from NYC and a woman in line overheard us talking who was from Long Island. Lucky she heard our accent because she told us they also make bagels and she said they were excellent. We bought 2 and we just had them. I came home and made jalapeno cream cheese (just like at Murrey's Bagels in NY). Wow! the bagels were delicious! We are now going to be buying those all the time. Of course their chilli croissants are also amazing! Everything here is 5 star quality. So happy we live not too far from this little gem...

This the best bakery I've come across in my 14+ years of living in the UK (13 of which were in London). Their breads are lovely, ciabattas the perfect blend of soft and crunchy, and their bagels...Well, I'm originally from NY, and have rarely had a good bagel outside of New York City. Fat Batard has changed that. Even including the famed bagels of Brick Lane in London, Fat Batards are, without question, the best bagels I've had outside of NY. If they bring back their amazing baguettes, that would be great, as they're as good as...
