The Milkman — Restaurant in Scotland

I am currently sitting in the milkman coffee shop in peebles. If I could give zero stars I would, the girl who just served me at 11.15, 10/09/24 was so rude. I ordered the oatmilk latte and it was barely warm. I politely asked if I could get it reheated and she threw the cup in the sink and went into a strop , so unprofessional. She re made the coffee and practically threw it at me saying extra hot latte. This time it was fine, hot, just as a coffee should be. My friend got an ordinary latte , that was also cold be she didn’t have the confidence to say this one should’ve also been remade.

They have the cheek to ask for a tip at the pay point before you even get served…..! It’s a shame because I have been here before and the staff were lovely. I don’t know the name of this girl but I hope from my description of the exact date and time she can be spoken to about her attitude before she puts more people off coming here. I work in customer services myself and I would never speak to a customer this way. Went for a cake and coffee with friends and my puppy. Received the most shocking customer service I’ve ever experienced. My puppy had a short cry when we first arrived due to a new environment and being a little scared. The young man serving was so rude - shaking his head, sighing, whispering under his breath in front of myself (he was actually swearing) and my friends. The young lady serving wasn’t much better - screwing up her face at me while literally taking my payment, also giving us the most awful looks, not a single smile. I have never felt so uncomfortable in a cafe and if I hadn’t already paid, I would have left. My puppy did not bother a single person in that cafe apart from the staff. After his little cry he sat asleep under the table the whole time we had our cake and drink. Please do not state dog friendly if this is how your staff are going to act - dogs are definitely not welcome. Horrible...

Travelling through to Galashiels and stopped at Peebles for a walk around and find some coffee, trying to avoid Costa for a local place. Walked past The Milkman at first but after checking Google maps found it. Windows were steamed up so would not have known what was inside until going in. My wife likes Matcha Latte which can be hard to find but no such issue here. She said it was one of the best she has had. My Flatwhite was also very good and much better than any chain coffee shop offering. I actually had to go back after paying as I thought they had undercharged me but no, that was their prices. It really is incomprehensible to think Coffee lovers would go accross the road to Costa, when this far superior Coffee Shop is right there on the high street. In the area again, The Milkman is where we will be back to as our goto Coffee...
