Just picked up my new car in Ayr so my wife and I went into the golf inn. It looked welcoming and it was. I had the 3 course menu for Β£11.95 consisting of haggis crepes with whiskey sauce. Which was tasty but not a lot followed by fish and chips which was of the frozen variety . I expected fresh fish after all it's not that hard to do. And to finish I had the sticky toffee pudding again not a lot but tasty. My wife had the chicken and barbecue sauce with melted cheese. My wife said it was ok but for Β£11 she expected better. Toilets need up grading badly. Would I go back mmmmm might just to give it an other chance to be better. Staff we very friendly...

I chose the steak pie and chips which had been recommended to me, and my wife wanted fish and chips but it wasn't on the menu, so instead she chose chicken, covered in a peppercorn sauce and chips. Both meals were delicious. I even ended up ordering a dessert, even though I never do, as I knew how delicious it would be, and, again, I wasn't let down. Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream for her, and I got millionaires...
Β Β Β Read moreThis is a very traditional wee village pub. Very historical for the area showing a lot of golfing memorabilia and telling the story of the golf course being the first home of the Open. Staff were friendly and helpful with an added bonus that you can take your dog in (as long as it is well behaved) and sit and have a meal. Food was good and large menu with great choices. Would definitely go back. Weekend entertainment...
