We were in Falkland and fancied a small lunch. However, all the usual pubs and cafes along the High Street were mobbed. That's when I remembered that the Hayloft was around the corner and up the street. Access into the Hayloft is by a set of stairs so people who are infirm, struggle with stairs, or in a wheelchair might not make it up the stairs. There is a small table and chairs at the foot of the stairs which two people could sit at. The room upstairs is light, roomy and with the blackbirds outside singing away perfectly serene. Surprisingly, there was only one other person sitting in the dining area, although there was enough seating for twenty people, it doesn't seem to be that a large room. We ordered soup, cakes, juice and a latte. These came out soon after and they all tasted delicious (and at a bargain price). The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. There are toilets for customers. If you want a light snack and a sample of pure Scottish hospitality then this is the place you should visit (especially if it's busy on the High Street). It's truly a Scottish hidden gem.

Lovely warm and inviting with very friendly and helpful staff. Stopped in after walking in the Lomond hills. Fruit scones were delicious with butter and jam and a very nice touch that they were warmed up for you. Very nice coffee which was piping hot. Will definitely return

A great wee tea room. Everything we had was wonderful, service was great, and prices were very reasonable. Can highly recommend their scones in particular.

Went to the tearoom for lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was cosy and very much like you were entering someone’s home, which was a nice warm respite from the cold, blustery weather outside.

The food was absolutely delicious and at very reasonable prices. I had the light bites deal for 8.50 pounds that came with a soup, roll, coffee and scone with jam/cream. I had cream of broccoli soup and it was, without question, the best soup I’ve ever had. The scone was so light and soft inside, slightly crispy on the outside. Perfection. Highly recommend this as a lunch or tea stop...

We were recommended this cafe for lunch and really agree on this spot. It is fantastic for those looking for a break from heavy food and battered fish and chips. A range of soups, sandwiches and cakes provide a traditional cafe menu. It was delightful to get back to a lovely soup, bread roll and a treat afterwards. Welcoming staff helped to manage our indecisive daughter and we all managed to clear our plates. Also REALLY good...
