The Old Crown Inn — Restaurant in Scotland

Its one of those few traditional pubs that still cater for a relaxed refreshment. Obviously catering for events dear to regular customers hearts and the bar staff might well listen - they might not as well, which is the age old battle between landlord and demanding customers. The conversation is always about retaining things we love and these things we value; on occasion to the passer by it sounds like moaning but often thats just the pain of caring. On route from Dundee to Edinburgh we stopped in Penicuik for the night.

We wanted to grab a pint at a proper pub and came across The Old Crown. What a great pub with friendly locals. Sammy the bartender was wonderful, friendly and just a generally great lass. She recommended a local craft beer that hit the spot (a few times).

Not been in the Crown for years. They seem to be introducing a Real Ale (not cask conditioned) although when I visited on a mid week afternoon, today a new IPA ale was still to come online.
