Disappointing Pre-Departure Meal Experience
I recently visited a restaurant for a pre-departure meal and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted (if that's the correct word) with a plethora of hygiene issues that were hard to overlook.
Firstly, the table I was seated at was not properly cleaned, despite apparent attempts to do so. There were remnants of chewing gum stuck underneath the table, and the surface felt sticky to touch. This not only compromised the cleanliness of the dining area but also left a negative impression on the overall dining experience.
To add insult to injury, there was lipstick stains on my orange juice glass. It was disappointing to see that such basic cleanliness standards were not being upheld. It is essential that restaurants maintain the highest standards of hygiene, especially in a time where health and safety are of utmost importance.
Additionally, I had mashed potatoe with my pie , and it arrived cold and unappetizing. The texture was lumpy, making it evident that it had been sitting out for far too long. This neglect in food quality further contributed to my disappointment.
As a customer, I expect a clean and hygienic dining environment, as well as properly prepared and presented food. Unfortunately, this experience fell short on both fronts. I hope that the restaurant takes my feedback constructively and improves upon these aspects to provide a better dining experience in the future.
O if the staff could smile or may make the bad experience a little...
Read moreThe search for the worst Airport/Ferry food in the world turns to The Spinning Jenny in the Arrivals section of Glasgow Airport, UK.
Comparing the All Day Breakfast from every airport and ferry operator, The Spinning Jenny actually fares quite well.
Plus points - the items in the meal did come all at different temperatures, a standard requisite for the worst meal winner. The sausages were warmest but the beans weren't as cold as usual. The beans did have a disgusting soapy taste though which saved them from being good. The bacon was barely cooked, and the fried eggs were thrown onto the plate, left where they landed. But best of all, the breakfast was served not with toast, hash browns or even potato scones (Scotland), but with very bland, luke warm potato wedges. A killer move that puts it right up there with the worst breakfasts ever.
More plus points - apart from the woman who took my order (who was very good), the staff were extremely rude, their conversation dipping to whispers when I approached the bar and turning their backs on me (taking orders, not my job). Top marks to them. Two empty ketchup bottles adorned the table along with other uncared for condiments.
A final plus mark is awarded for the unbelievably sticky table which literally attached the paper serviette to it and ripped as I prised it away. Overall, in comparison with other contenders, this was an above average bad experience hence its high ranking, but not bad enough to get top marks as the search for the worst...
Read moreDisappointed :-(.
This was the second time we tried The Spinning Jenny at Glasgow Airport. Both times, the experience has not been good. The tea was very bland.
Today, We ordered the breakfast pizza without the bacon (but specified that we will want all remaining stuff.). We were instead given a plain cheese pizza.
When at the counter ordering, the lady asked what table we are sitting. We hadn’t selected a table at that point. I pointed to the nearest table. The lady asked me to go and check the table number and tell her so that she could then tag our order to the table number. I definitely did not mind that but it was a bit odd for a hospitality business at an international airport to have these type of protocols.
No plates or cutlery was give with the pizza. We requested for plates and cutlery which came to our table after twelve minutes when we had already finished the pizza.
The seating arrangement is good though. This restaurant can be so much better with a little more...
