The Stables, Belleisle Park — Restaurant in Scotland

After many reviews I have left for cafes and restaurants throughout the years I haven't had to give a one star to one as yet but today it changes. Myself, my neice and brother went for a lovely walk around Belleisle and decided to pop in for a soup and cold drink before we went home. We arrived at 11:30am. We placed our order and when picking out the kids meal deal we realized there wasn't any fruit in the fridge. We asked and got told there wasn't any fruit today which is strange but is what it is. We waited outside and received our drink which were warm. And my brother received his soup and I waited patiently. After minutes I had to go ask where my meal was to then be told. We ran out of soup do you want mushrooms soup instead. Which made no sense to be as it was lentil as the soup for the day. I asked why I wasn't informed and they said sorry we never realized. I'm sorry but the place was practically dead and the woman who was serving us should have been questioning herself where my meal was. We had our drinks and left..I did have to go ask for my refund for my meal which they gave me without a apology. Will most definitely won't be back. And will be informing others about...

Walked in 3.45 and 3/4 members of staff wandering about. Signage confusing as to whether it is table service or order at the counter. Hung about for a few minutes and approached by nobody so went to the counter and asked if it was order there. Staff member looks at the clock and says we stop serving coffee at half past or quarter to (make up your mind, it's either one or the other!). Perhaps management should have opening/serving signs clearly displayed to let potential customers know, and maybe a bit more proactively from staff when someone has, quite obviously, walked in thinking tge place is open, to let them know that it is not. Left a poor impression...

Lovely clean cafe with friendly staff. Good coffees and good selection of light bites (sandwiches, toasties, baked potato, soup, cakes, scones etc.) Love the decor inside and good price. Great location and lots of parking. Ideal after playing golf or after a good walk. The prices are very reasonable compared to other cafes / chain coffee houses and its always a pleasure to visit.
