The Tavern — Restaurant in Scotland

This is the 2nd time we've stopped here for food and was so glad to see the 1st visit wasn't a fluke. The outside from the carpark doesn't look overly great but please don't let that turn you away. The food or really nice and fresh and very reasonable the staff are lovely, and even though busy, still take time to interact with you and your children. They even put some Disney songs on for my two little ones. The fish platter,spicy mozzarella sticks and the haddock and chips are a few things I can recommend. Portions are generous and the desserts are REALLY naughty as a dessert should be!! Sticky toffee pudding and homemade rocky road cheesecake are well worth a try for those with a sweet tooth. I would call this more of a CAFE with some alcoholic drinks, now the staff are somewhat nice and friendly, if your a local they will have a chat with you which is nice, place isn’t the nicest inside not really a pub vibe, uses plastic pop up tables and is full of kids, about kids, why can’t they use the table I asked the staff and say they must be 18 to use a pool table? I know for a fact that some kids would beat adults at pool, is it cuz the adults are sore losers and can’t win a game and cry when a kid wins? Visited the Tavern to have a cpl of much needed cold beers and a game of bingo.

The beers went down well just a pity I couldn't say the same for the bingo 😂😂, still had a good time and hopefully I'll be back next week, wil be looking for a better outcome as never won anything this time but had a few 😂 😂.

After bingo tried to have a game of pool, being disabled made this ever so difficult and extremely painful.

Won't be trying that again, but for anyone else I would recommend having a few games of pool...
