I happened by The Viking on my way through Glasgow to the west highland way on my bigger journey walking from Lands End to John O'Groats. I was just looking for a place to have a pint and charge my phone when I was warmly welcomed by both the locals and the landlord. The landlord gave me a dinner on the house since I'm walking for charity and the food was absolutely lovely! I had a steak pie and it was an actual pie! Not one of those gravy soups in a dish with meat floating in it and pastry lid... The locals were lovely and made me feel welcome with their quick Glasgow humour. Staff assured me the full drinks I had just paid for would be replaced, after 10 minutes waiting I walk to the bar to be told " we don't do replacements, that girl was new, it's not our fault he fell". I inform them that they allowed him to be so drunk he was unable to stand, to which the chief barmaid says "he's not drunk he banged his head yesterday" as if serving alcohol to someone with head trauma is...
