It was a cold rainy night in Glasgow. What is a student to do if there are no exams to revise for? As I pondered this question, my stomach answered me.
“Peggy’s”, it growled.
As if I was in a trance, I picked up the phone and started dialling. I placed my order, swooped my jacket on and left to collect in a flash.
10 minutes later, and I walked through the doors of this legendary establishment. Immediately it hit me. The smell. The aroma. It was unreal. I temporarily lost consciousness until I was awoken by the words:
“How can I help you?”
I opened my eyes and it was her. Peggy. I had heard so much but seen so little. Until now.
I collected my food, sprinted home and devoured the lot. Char Siu with rice. Gone in seconds.
And I loved every bite.
