Small traditional pub with a warm friendly welcome by Gary. I liked the cosy ambience, though at Friday lunchtime it wasn't busy. It's at Causewayhead, with the Wallace Monument and museum not far away. (But that's up a steep climb by a narrow road or through the trees on a rough track. If you want to avoid the walk to the Monument, its website says there's a shuttle bus from the entrance kiosk - and there were folk waiting for it - but check the frequency). We just wanted a drink and a light bite after plodding up the hill and the pub was very convenient. I paid around Β£18 for a salami pizza (Β£8.99) [plus a small coke for my daughter] and a pint of draught fruit beer. Both of those were nice and service was quick - around 5 minutes from ordering the pizza was on the table. Pizza was pretty good for a pub pizza - I iked the thin crispy but chewy dough base, topping was fine - decent quality and a fair price for it. My daughter liked the vibe of the pub as it was a traditional rustic pub but clean and decorated well. As a bit of a pizza fanatic she rated it quite highly due to the crispy base, the even toppings, and flavour. I'd happily go back - especially if I was visiting the Monument - it's the...

The William Wallace is everything a great Scottish pub should be β€” warm, authentic, and full of character. The drinks are top-quality, with a solid selection of local ales and whiskies, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

The real standout? The owner. Incredibly kind, genuine, and clearly passionate about creating a welcoming space. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, you’ll be treated like family. A true gem in the heart of Stirling!

We stumbled across this great Scottish pub called The William Wallace in Sterling on our way up to the monument and said it a β€œmust do stop” on the way back down. The publican Scott greeted us in true Scottish style and we sampled numerous beers as unsure which way to go as from Australia. After lots of good banter and a few beers we can highly recommend the William Wallace as a friendly welcoming pub to visit on your travels to Stirling....

I have gone to the Wallace on and off since I was 18, I'm now 45 (please don't tell anyone). Chris has taken over and I have to say I am very impressed. The pizza is amazing, simple and tasty. Now the weekend prosecco deal was amazing, Β£12 a bottle. They have only gone and made it better again with a pizza and prosecco deal on a Saturday πŸ˜‹πŸΎ. I love karaoke which is on every 2nd Saturday 🎀, if I had to change anything it would be more karaoke 🎀 😁

Stopped in for a pint after visiting the Wallace monument up the hill. Great little watering hole , especially if you're a local. Great ambiance , decor, and friendly bar/wait staff. The place is nice and clean , and the beer tasted really fresh. I would have happily settled in for the night watching the golf onda big screen TV, but had to move on. Genuine Scottish pub, do yourself a favour and drop in for one at least , ya won't be sorry.

An amazing place! Everything you could ever want from a pub experience in Scotland. Local gem for sure. Got adopted immediately by the nicest people, as well as customers and staff! There was Pizza, Ale and even live music. The Pub is 20 years older, as the Monument outside of it, and you can really feel that vibe. A must visit if in the the area.
