Chy South Road — Restaurant in Sefton

Yeah having read the reviews, I had high hopes for this place but my partner and I found it disappointing sadly. The surroundings are lovely as are the staff but there was just no atmosphere. My food was lovely but my partner wasn't impressed with the beef curry main which contained just 5 small pieces of beef and the curry itself was just bog standard chippy curry but more watery. We also felt that the portions were on the small side, I usually struggle to eat 3 courses but I probably could have eaten another course. Service was very good but rushed, no sooner had we finished the last forkful, the plates were whipped away and we were asked if ready for the next course, which as we were hungry, we just said yes, the next course then appeared within a minute or two. Yes it's very efficient but we were in and out within 45 minutes so whilst I think it could be a good place for a quick teatime treat, it's not somewhere I'd recommend for a cozy or romantic meal where you can linger, chat and enjoy a few drinks alongside it, there just isn't the time and it just doesn't have that type of ambience. We are foodies and have eaten at this restaurant several times over the last 2 years. It is the best Chinese restaurant in Liverpool by a long shot. The staff are friendly but professional and the service is great but the food is exceptional, and I mean a different league to the others. The only issue we had is we’ve a toddler and although they are family friendly it’s more stress than it’s worth feeding him. But here’s the GAMECHANGER, they now deliver.
