Hungry Greek — Restaurant in Sefton

Great, busy location for a food provider like this Hungry Greek.

Honestly, I walked by the restaurant many times, but never picked up my attention this throughoutly Greek place. Not even the Greek 🇬🇷 blue window decorations…

First impression was the quick response from the owner on Google maps (asked if the business was still open). Secondly, the great welcoming, friendly attitude and atmosphere!

Tiny place, only 3 tables, but people not going there to settle down for hours 🤷🏻‍♂️

On my visit it was spotless clean, happy Greek music in the background and Greek customers (maybe family). Ordered a take out chicken gyros.

It was only 5 mins wait. Food nicely covered.

The gyros was just fantastic! The spices were amazing, gave a little Mediterranean feel 😋 The lettuce, tomatoes, sauce was fresh, really enjoyed.

Portion was well enough for the £8.

They do eat-in, take away/ collection and home delivery.

I had a bit an unpleasant experience last night with my order. Took a long time to arrive and when it did the food wasn't as hot as I would have expected and so it was disappointing. I left a review on Just Eat and was contacted today by the owner who was just amazing. When leaving a review you never think that the owners will actually do something about it, but this guy was great. He called me to apologise for the mess that happened last night and asked to put it right. I told him it was okay and he didn't need to do anything but he was adamant that he wanted to leave a better experience with me. He asked again for my address and within 30 minutes his lovely wife turned up at my door with a mixed grill platter for 2, free of charge. Whilst Just Eat won't allow me to remove my previous post, it's important to also recognise this amazing service and I will 100% be coming back to you guys. The food is amazing. Its fresh. We’ve ordered from The Hungry Greek multiple times, and I can honestly say it’s the best Greek food we’ve ever had. The food always arrives hot, fresh, and full of authentic flavour. We recently tried the Skepasti — it was incredible! Juicy meat, perfectly grilled pitta bread, and a rich, tasty tzatziki sauce that tied it all together. The portions are generous, delivery is quick and reliable, and the staff are always friendly and polite — you can tell they really care about what they do.
