Derby Park is by far the best in Bootle.
Its the only one that's tucked away from the main roads and its nestled in what's arguably the nicer and quieter part of the town.
Its never overly busy, and there never seems to be any trouble or anti social oiks in there.
The green spaces are well maintained year round and there's lots of well laid out landscaped areas, a good playground, bowling green and bandstand.
Derby Park also has a proactive and keen local residents group who keep an eye on the place and help arrange certain summer activities within the park.
I grew up playing in there and decades later I still enjoy walking through or finding a tucked away spot for a sunbathe.

Read moreLovely place to go for a walk. Especially during spring, when everything starts blooming, you can see squirrels sometimes as well. There is huge place where you can have a picnic, or play with your dog but.... there is one exception. Rubbish ! I don't know if this is a kind of national hobby to leave the mess everywhere, or maybe I should say welcome to Bootle ? There are bins provided, but you can see rubbish just next to the bin. Are people such ignorant ? Plastic bottles, cans, bags. No wonder there is lots of rats in this park. Could be great, but as usual there will be always some nasty people that haven't got respect...
