The meal was average, maybe ever so slightly better than what you would expect from a wetherspoons. At first the drinks came and they were great, I got recommended a pale ale which was fantastic. My partner and her mother enjoyed the margaritas. I still think £9 per margarita is extortionate but this isn't the restaurants fault as it appears to be the same price everywhere. We looked at the menu we all noticed that the choices were quite limiting. Maybe 6 items on the starters and 6 on the main not including the steaks and burgers. I was expecting due to the limited menu that the food would be amazing to compensate since there is less to deal with. We ordered 3 starters to share and a main course each. The starters were very average except for the hummus which to their credit was fantastic. The fish cake starter was tiny and did not taste fresh at all. The Korean chicken was ok but tasted no better than something I would get from KFC. All the other starters were very bread based and did not catch our interest. Moving on to the main course then, and another round of margaritas - I kept it simple and ordered a beef burger, considering they had selected cuts from the cow on the menu and that it was split from everything else I expected something relatively decent. Unfortunately, the chips were obviously frozen chunky chips which I guess is a staple in most places, I was just expecting more. The lettuce in the burger appeared rather old or it was left sitting on the side for a while before it was served, the meat was overcooked and charred substantially and it was not juicy at all. However the bacon and cheese in it were great. My partner had the fish and chips, in all fairness it looked great other than the frozen chips, but she was not a fan. I didn't taste it so cannot confirm, however I did try the tartar sauce and I did really like it, made with real capers and none of the store bought stuff. I came in with the expectation of having dessert as well but after the food I felt it would also be in the same boat of being average so ended up not getting any. Overall the food was very average and in the end we payed £100 with a tip. I feel a little let down, the other reviews looked amazing and some of the pictures I saw looked fantastic. Even the restaurant it self looks great, fantastic furniture and nice setting (other than the tacky fake flowers, but some people like them I guess). I hope it was just an off day as I feel like this place has great potential, although I would not come back I hope they improve for the next people that go eat there. Tldr: nice setting, great staff, great furniture, food very...
Read moreWe were shown straight to our table on arrival, staff were pleasant enough and the menu was reasonably priced.
My wife ordered a special (spring rolls) and I went with an Avocado and Prawn Salad, I think the chef must have missed a few prawns off the plate and the soggy onions and tomatoes weren't the best. During the starter - whilst we were still eating - a member of staff came to take our plates and said ' have you finished' whilst my wife still had food on her plate and a fork in her mouth....
We asked for a little break between courses when we finished the starter, only to have our mains plonked in front of us almost immediately.
The blade of lamb was passable but my mussels & frite weren't, some were well overcooked and shrivelled in their shells leaving a very bitter taste with them.
When asked if everything was OK, we voiced our concerns and were presented with the bill, it was only after the bill was paid, the manageress tried to placate things, saying we shouldn't have paid and she would have arranged a discount.
It felt (watching others in the restaurant) that the staff are trying to get bums on and off seats as quickly as possible.
We won't return, there are far better restaurants at the same price point...
Read moreWent to inside no 4 for the first time a couple of nights ago, and we're so glad we have it a try. We had such a lovely time! The staff were friendly and attentive, we were sat at a lovely table in the patio and the service was brilliant! I am vegan, where as my partner isn't, and the menu had lots of choices for us both. I had an arancini starter and the Vegan cottage pie for my main, and my partner picked the Korean popcorn chicken and the beef kebab. We both enjoyed our meal so much, and the prices we paid were really good for the amount of food we got. We were stuffed for hours afterwards! We both ordered the Crosby colada cocktail too which was hands down the best cocktail I've ever had!
The atmosphere was very pleasant and the social distancing measure were spot on. We'll definitely be coming back again in the future and would definitely recommend it to everyone if they're looking for a restaurant with a beautiful feel, helpful staff and tasty food and drinks! Thank you for a wonderful evening...
