We had Sunday roast dinner here today. Booked in a table for 3 at 16:30 - Sunday 23rd Feb.
Firstly the portion size was scandalous. The roast came with carrots apparently. 2 broken 'bits' of carrot that honestly wouldn't have made 1 slice of carrot together. 3 tiny potatoes. 2 slivers of broccoli still 3 minutes away from being al dente. Pork belly which didn't come with any apple sauce and 'stuffed' Yorkshire pudding. Don't believe their instagram. There was nothing but air inside and the tiniest 'filling' sitting on the top.
For what little was there it was pretty good food. Just nowhere near enough and at £20 for a roast you should be getting more than a child's portion and not having to order half a dozen sides at £5 a pop.
The service is absolutely shocking. We waited 30 minutes sat at the table with no drinks. No table water on arrival. No drinks. Not even a drinks order! I went to the bar myself. Even when I could see my drinks at the bar it took 15 minutes for 1 of the 3 waiters to begin to bring them over.
The service is the major issue here. Clearly nobody in charge at this service. Clearly nobody knows what they are doing the restaurant is lacking in leadership and training massively.
All glasses empty with no asking for another drink. All plates empty and left on our table for 30 minutes. Not even asked how the meal was when I went to the bar myself to ask for the bill.
All in all it's just another restaurant which has thrown a few artificial plants around for instagram and is completely reliant on people posting social media pics. All show and no substance.
We had been previously the Saturday before for breakfast - the food was really great at this service but again the service was the same. Slow. Untrained. No leadership. That 2 visits out of 2

Read moreUnderwhelmed by my first (and likely last) visit to Liverpool Road Social. Had booked what I thought was the "restaurant" on Boxing Day and was expecting the festive menu or Boxing Day lunch that was advertised on the website but when we arrived our waiter informed us that breakfast was all that was available! Are you serious?? Very poor communication to customers especially when the menus that were handed to us when we sat down included the festive menu with full lunch/dinner options. Could they not have been taken out when they weren't available? That's what you call customer service! We ordered crumpets and the poached eggs arrived cold and the bernaise sauce was just about lukewarm. There was only two other tables with people at the time so the chef could not have been run off his/her feet .Think I'll be giving this place a wide berth, as there are lots of other nice places to eat in Crosby and Waterloo and Liverpool city centre is just a short train or...
Read moreI absolutely love coming to the Liverpool Road Social, the layout is open and vibrant, the atmosphere between the bar and the dining area creates a lively but intimate experience. To be able to view the chef working right in front of the tables creates a great conversation piece. At the bar area, the staff as with the dining area are all friendly and confident, this creates a happy party like atmosphere, that filters throughout. Sitting outside is just as intimate and involved in the atmosphere, with a barbecue during great weather, and great music with a DJ being able to both inject and fit right into the whole scheme of the restaurant. It’s my favourite place to visit for an all day and night occasion, that I have enjoyed every time I been. Once you have been, you will want to go back just to be in that incredible layout, as it feels like an exclusive day each time...
