Rock Salt is a great local spot on a main road through Crosby. Offering varied food, coffees and drinks, it has something for everyone. It does get busy, so bear this in mind, especially if visiting at the weekend. The food was good but nothing spectacular. Everything was priced reasonably, although it was a bit much to pay £2 extra for a single fried egg on top of the "proper toastie", which was literally just placed on top with minimal presentation (and it was green, although the staff explained this was because it was from grass fed / organic chickens). Some items are definitely better than others, as my wife LOVES the chip butty. The coffee tasted good, but the latte art was severely lacking (see photo). Staff are very friendly, highchairs are available, and there's parking on the street outside (though it's difficult to get). The decor is really nice and and it's a lovely place to be.

We came here for a late lunch after walking down Crosby beach. I had the buffalo wings with fries which were really nice and decent portion. My partner ordered the beef brisket toastie but they were out of brisket so she had the proper toastie which was ham and cheese with proper pulled ham. Both meals were really nice. We both had a drink each and the bill was £28 would defo return They also do wine tasting days as well which sound really good will return for one of these.

First time visit to Rock Salt for a breakfast brunch. Managed to get a table no problems as a walk in and staff were friendly. Went for the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, side of halloumi and homemade rostis. Food was incredible, I like my food but the pancakes were some of, it not the, best I've ever had. I was full before I'd started the third one! Halloumi was nice and the rosti was good. Hopefully be back to try the evening menu soon!

Awful service. Waited at the bar to be seated for 10 minutes before the only seemingly happy bartender offered us a drink! Staff didn’t seem to care we were even there. Met with snotty glances and staff walking round the venue texting on their phones! Finally sat down to order food, food came and tasted nice but was sat with empty drinks for the entirety of the meal without offer from waitress for a new beverage. Disgusting service food was slammed down in front of us as was the bill from the girl waitress who couldn’t get away from us quick enough and was on her phone. Very very disappointed with our experience, I’ve never wrote a review in my life but was so upset after our encounter. Will NOT be returning to...

Whilst I think this is generally a really nice place to have a drink, tonight we decided to have a selection of small plates... all good until served.. my husband ended up wearing the oil from one of the dishes as it was thrown down in front of us! Yes there was a quick apology, some kitchen roll. Nothing more, not even a quick check that all was ok!... on requesting the bill, I hoped they would have at least deducted 1 drink maybe.... no! Only upon querying "less the oil splattering", was he offered a free limoncello (not what he was drinking!)...one small gesture of good will would have gone a long way. Poor customer service in my opinion .Food would not rate much higher...
