I don’t even know where to start. This was the best Indian/Nepalese food I’ve had in ages. I’ve only recently moved to Bootle and struggled to find something local that tastes authentic and where the mango chutney isn’t LFC red. I’m a vegetarian and had the aaloo tikka, genuinely the best thing I’ve tasted in ages. It was so flavourful. Poppadoms and dips were insane, best onion dip I’ve had. It wasn’t just onions in a pot, it had a subtle sauce with it too. Garlic naan was one of the best I’ve ever had too. For main I got the lassan karahi, it’s tasted exactly what I imagine when I fancy a curry. I’ve tried many other veg curries and they’re okay, mostly tomato flavour. The spices in the curry were unreal, not spicy just tasty. My partner got the chicken tikka and said it was really good. I hardly ever leave reviews but this was needed!! Only thing which was quite sad was the fact the restaurant was empty when I picked up, they deserve so much...
Read moreThis post is from Hazel & Alan Wood. Saffron serves both Indian and Nepalese dishes. We regularly eat here, and are never disappointed. Food is amazing, chicken shashlik, chicken tikka (our favourites are cooked to order, and served on a sizzling patter, which looks and tastes exceptional). All food is fresh and truly delicious. We have recommended Saffron to many of our friends, and they too are now regulars. The staff are lovely, friendly and efficient - nothing is too much hassle trouble. I always have extra Corriander with my meal, they now just bring it without me even asking, which is lovely. The owner Ryan is welcoming, friendly and very knowledgeable about his menu. The ethos of "nothing is too much trouble" obviously is his, and passed on to his staff. I hope he does not mind me saying this; he has a very calming, gentle manner about him. and he genuinely cares about his customers, and the food he serves to them. A lovely hard...
