First visit great. Second visit average. Third visit good food but poor service. First visit: Just enjoyed the best mediterranean food in years. Asked the lady of the house for a starter recommendation and was advised to try the calamari. A wise choice as it transpired - so fresh and tender in a beautiful mix of batter and breadcrumbs, served with a finely chopped lettuce, cucumber, red onion and tomato salad- dressed in olive oil, lemon and a drizzle of pomegranate sauce accompanied by pitta bread. It was followed by an halloumi kebab and a side of aubergine ratatouille - latter served in a green pepper cooked to perfection. All presented with the trademark salad which was fresh and delicious. Everything was served beautifully and in generous portions. For meat lovers there is also plenty of choice. Across the range they offer tapas, starters, main courses or light bites. Something for everyone. Rounded off with a great cappuccino from their decent coffee machine. The lady who served me couldn't have been more helpful. She is very laid back and welcoming, but no slouch making sure you're very well looked after. Excellent food, people and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Will be back! Second visit - standard was not quite as high, with requests re meal not conveyed to the chef or not interpreted correctly. Third and final visit was disappointing. The lady proprietor turned the light off near my table whilst I was reading a book, then my request for chips instead of rice was forgotten and the chips arrived later as an afterthought and tried to charge me for them, despite it being their mistake. When I raised this to them they still wanted payment for chips on top of the main meal. Their insistence on this has cost them my custom and that of my friends. Delicious food, we’ve only ever ordered from this place. We ordered weekly for over 3 years. One night the delivery was over 2 hours late. We were promised a complimentary bottle of wine by way of apology with our next meal. The next time an excuse was made as to why the wine hadn’t been delivered, we were promised we’d receive it the next time we ordered - unfortunately the next time we ordered it was the same scenario. The Driver apologised profusely and promised it would be dropped off the following night at a specific time. I actually travelled home early from where I was, to ensure someone was in for when the delivery man would be knocking. Unfortunately he didn’t turn up and I received no phone call to inform me that he wouldn’t be coming. It’s bad customer service to mess people around, especially loyal customers. A group of friends ate here last week. We booked in advance but other than our party of 5 there was only 1 other couple there. We ordered main courses only as well as drinks. The food all arrived together and was good and hot. Between us we ordered chicken with asparagus, chicken slouvaki, lamb kebabs and lamb chops. All came with rice and salad. Everyone enjoyed the food Service was good attentive but not over the top. The owner's young daughter was in the restaurant and I did feel that she was allowed to wander around the restaurant too much without intervention from her mum who was serving us. It's a shame the restaurant was so empty as it lacked atmosphere and a buzz you usually get from other people's presence. I know it was a Tuesday evening but it's sad a nice restaurant has so...
