Read moreThis doesn't even deserve 1 star. We came for dinner on 06/01/23, arriving around 8.30pm. We were seated promptly but then waited ages with no staff coming to take any food or drinks orders. There were only about 5 tables of diners and about the same number of waiting staff. All staff avoided eye contact when we tried to get their attention to order. It was very clear that they all wanted to finish their shift rather than serve anyone in the restaurant. The table behind us had also been waiting since before we arrived and, when no one came to take any orders, they decided to leave and get dinner in Wetherspoons instead. Pizzas were nice when they finally came but we were shocked to see staff sat around on their phones while on their shift. We waited a further 45 minutes for the bill, as the remaining staff sat behind the bar on their phones. It would have been easy to leave without paying at all because literally no one seemed to care or was paying any attention at all. Usually love Pizza Express but staff at this branch need serious training in customer service. The Sevenoaks branch has lost our custom as no way we'll be going back any time soon. Read moreWe went for lunch today (21st Aug 2023). One lady working to cover the whole restaurant. She was clearly stressed and not coping. It took 10 mins to get the menus, another 15 to place our orders and we had to ask for water on the table. We were brought a plate of dough balls that we hadn't ordered but let it go. When we asked for parmesan and a spoon, the lady lifted her arms up in exasperation, and said "I am SO busy!" After that she avoided our table and any eye contact with us when walking past. We had to stand and find her to order the two desserts for the children's meals. We asked for the bill at the same time, and when we paid by card the amount charged was more than on the bill. As we left, we asked why we had been charged more. She went bright red and said that she had forgotten the two children's desserts on the bill so added them afterwards. There was no apology but just the comment "Well, someone has to pay !" We were shocked at the lack of courtesy and respect. We understand that she was very stressed and that the restaurant should have had more than one person dealing with all the guests, but there was absolutely no excuse for her rudeness.
