One of the worst cafes I've ever been to.
Before I got served there were 3 members of staff struggling to figure out how to pour a pint. (The keg was empty I assume from the first 10 seconds of watching next to nothing come out the tap) but somehow this was a 3 person, 5 minute problem. When staff are hired they should be trained on all duties they will be expected to carry out.
I ordered a coke and a brownie - I askedif the brownie had peanuts to which the allergen sheet stated they do not even co tain traces, lovely. I stood at the side for 5 minutes after ordering to then be told if would be brought to my table. Fine. Why couldn't I have been told that at the till?
After 10 minutes of waiting and watching other people receive the exact same thing I ordered iqas about to get up to complain when my glass of coke and brownie came my way. Turned out the server - in spite of the fact there were no allergens in the brownie pertinent to me - had gone into the back to get me a still wrapped one. Now, while this is a lovely gesture, why didn't she tell me? I could have saved her the effort as well gotten my order within 2 mi utes instead of 15. Communication in this place just absolutely abyssmal and wouldn't recommend this place for anyone other than students - this is clearly the only demographic this cafe cares about as they appeared to receive...
Read moreSo we were given a warm welcome and seated when places became available. When we looked at the menu online from the QR code we saw that the breakfast menu finished at 11.30 ( we arrived at 11.35 ) We were a little disappointed as that's what my mother and father wanted, just a light bite. Obviously we didn't know why we couldn't get a bacon sandwich after 11.30 as you could still get pancakes with bacon ? I still find it baffling as I'm writing this .... Anyway, as we sat and pondered what to eat we saw a bacon sandwich come out of the kitchen...this was at 11.55. We stopped one of the staff and asked if we were able to order a couple for my parents and were expecting him to say yes....but very bluntly we were told that the breakfast menu had finished on the app...and so we were unable to have one. As a cafe owner I was completely dismayed and totally disappointed with not only the decision, but the manner in which the message was conveyed. The first rule of business is to keep the customer satisfied......making two bacon sandwiches for two elderly customers, I'm sure wouldn't have broken any law...nor get anyone into trouble. I think you should review your menu....and let people have a bacon sandwich whenever they want...a bacon butty is for life, not just...
Read moreIt's so sad to have to write this but Coffika's performance has dropped dramatically for some time now. I am a loyal customer since they opened in Ecclesall road and I can say that the level of service has gone down badly recently. Today I barely finished my food and left feeling so upset with the service and level of cleanliness. I sat for 20 minutes on a dirty table, the waitress didn't come until I had to call har to my table and ask to remove the plates away. It took another 10 minutes for her to come and remove the plates but forgot to even wipe the surface. Then she forgot to come to take my order. I had to carry my baby inside to make an order at the bar, and I found them talking like nothing happened. I even had to ask for someone to wipe the table!!!!! I can understand that a new waitress maybe trying to learn her job but today was not the first time this has happened. The menue has been the same for ages, nothing is changing. No verity and the food is overpriced! Please get better because people are leaving...
