We ordered a meal at 19.20 hrs for home delivery and were told it would be delivered in 40 to 45 minutes. Just over an hour later it had not been delivered so I rang again to be told "its on it's way and will be with you in 5 - 10 minutes" 35 minutes later, the food had still not been delivered so I rang again but the phone was constantly engaged. When we did eventually get through, the person answering asked us to wait a moment and put the phone down ! I could hear talking in the background and then a few minutes later, the line went dead when we were cut off - That is extremely rude !! By this time, we were obviously very hungry so we prepared some pizzas from our freezer. The delivery driver arrived 10 minutes later - which meant we had been waiting a total of an hour and 45 minutes - but we refused the delivery as we now had food cooking in the oven. If this situation was a 'one off' we would put it down to 'one of those things' but this is NOT the first time this has happened with our meal delivery from Rubeez - It is certainly the third time it has been very late and possibly the fourth. We have probably been blacklisted because of our refusal to accept and pay for the meal but it doesn't matter as we will not be ordering from Rubeez again. It's a shame really, as the food is very good - just a pity that the home delivery...
Read moreWe visited Rubeez as a table of six and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably and enjoy good company over even better food.
To start, I had the mixed kebab, which set the tone for the rest of the meal. Perfectly spiced and grilled, each piece of meat was tender, flavorful, and juicy, a real treat for anyone who appreciates quality starters done right.
For my main, I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala accompanied by three chapatis. The curry was rich and creamy, with just the right balance of heat and flavor. The chicken was again notably juicy, clearly cooked with care and attention. The chapatis were fresh, soft, and ideal for mopping up every last bit of sauce.
Everyone at the table ordered different dishes and we all left equally satisfied, not a single complaint among us. It is rare to find a place that delivers consistency across the board for a group of six, but Rubeez managed it effortlessly.
It is definitely a restaurant worth visiting...
Read moreI finally visited here after moving to the area a couple of years ago, and I wish I'd been before! It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and as good as any Indian / Bangladeshi meal I've ever had.
The menu is huge with loads of specials I'd never seen before so it was pretty hard to choose.
We had onion bhaji - crispy and light- naan bread - also clearly straight out of the oven. And the main chicken dish was packed with onions and peppers, and the aloo gobi, full of flavour and a perfect side dish.
I got the impression the food is made from scratch, packed full of fresh ingredients and spices - not just the meat and sauce approach you sometimes get with bigger chain restaurants.
The staff were really friendly, and prices very reasonable. A carafe of house wine for £8.50 and a bill of around £20 per person, you really can't complain!
Can't wait to visit again to try some more of their...
