The Old Crown — Restaurant in Sheffield

Recently went here for my Dad's wake, and everything was perfect up until someone random person, who looked an absolute state, walked up and tried hitting on my mum (whose partner the wake was for) and signing the memory book, despite not knowing any of us.

He was fended off, but when escalated to the landlord, he was very apathetic to us, caught in several lies, later even shifting the blame on us, accusing us of moving wake signs (which apparently hasn't been moved by anyone for 6 years, which is a ridiculous claim) and "inviting" others to play darts, which doesn't make any sense. Why invite randos to our private area? He even stepped really close to me during an argument as if to intimidate, which is absolutely baffling.

I understand that he couldn't stop everyone from coming up to us as hes very busy, which is fair on him, but the way I was treated, despite trying to be as fair as possible, is absolutely inexcusable. To have the blame shifted on us when we were in a time of mourning is ridiculous. It was supposed to be a good night out but turned to an absolute nightmare.

All the other staff and bar members were spot on, but the landlord really is...

I've stopped here after coming back from Tramlines Festival on Sunday, there was a party going on at the back of the pub mostly by the festival goers. The atmosphere was amazing everyone was in such a hype after the festival and filled the place to the brim, DjVans was on the decks playing a great variety of tunes to please the crowd. Drinks were extremely affordable and the bar staff was very attentive. Was such a nice way to end the day for one last dance. Well done to all The Old Crown...

Friend and I went in for food on a Saturday aftermoon. (They do not normally do food sat), with my dog. We were starving and needed to eat so they ofdered to make us fish, potatoe and veg. Ben (chef )who cooked it made a very tasty fish. Very friendly, accomodating owner and staff. Spent a love couple of hours there. Def go again. Also loved their dog...
