Visited the Slough chaiiwala shop with my family yesterday around 9pm and it was heaving like mad which is normal in Slough but yesterday was too much.
Firstly I just want to say the shop is so small there’s no room to move, nowhere to wait for orders and seats are always taken up. Food is good no doubt, I’ve tried pretty much everything and tea is on point but what’s the point when you have nowhere to wait and have to queue up ages just for gulab jamun cheesecake and tea and then there’s no seats to enjoy it !! I Felt really bad for the asian girl on the till (sorry not sure her name and position) with the fringe haircut thing because she’s always there and service is class when she’s in, but yesterday she was alone trying to do everything and it’s not really fair to be honest. Couple of times I’ve come in and one of the owners have been by the till area just playing on his phone or on Instagram or even serving customers while texting which one time he did to me and I didn’t really appreciate that!
The managers should know that Slough is always bare busy and one staff on Saturday? That’s not right. Infact the owners should know and do something instead of playing on their phones. I see them in just going in and out. Why not Help your staff out man. My baby sister was getting so annoyed and my friend waiting in the car couldn’t find parking so was getting annoyed to. If you know you are busy then you should atleast have the staff in or are you like all the other typical businesses cutting wages?? Don’t think I’ll be coming back for a long time. Really annoying man. Shame to lose customers like this especially when it can be fixed by helping out the staff no point shouting at them what can they do. I see customers come shout and swear. God only gave them two hands people need to understand how retail works especially the owners...
Read moreSo i went in here today. Ordered the desi breakfast and i saw the price was higher on the till than advertised on the menu. I then asked the lady at the till who was Rajni why it was higher, and apparently 30 mins before i arrived the management told the staff the prices had increased. She didn't tell me the prices had increased when i was ordering, it was me who noticed it and asked. When i told her you cannot charge customers more than advertised, her response over and over again was its the franchise. So how come birmingham branches are much cheaper, theyre part of the same franchise! When asked how to complain to the manager he was apparently not there and only gave me his name as Adil. I even asked for his number or email address, but as Rajni was being awkward she refused. Isn't it common sense from management to change the prices on the boards even manually! Or even write the new prices on paper and put it on the checkout! Also when i asked her what has increased she said she doesnt know and can only tell me once i order and she puts it on the till. So the prices were changed on the till apparently within the 30 minutes before i arrived but the staff have no idea of the new prices! What a joke! I have been here 3 times before and never charged for sauces before and she wanted to charge me for sauces aswell! Every time i have come in therw have been new staff, not even regular staff who can give the same info. This place is over rated and provides awful customer service. I will be reporting this branch, management, staff to the financial ombudsman! And maybe Rajni and the other useless staff members should be trained by proper management and not by management who clearly doesn't care for the customers and only care for the...
