Chokhat — Restaurant in Slough

My experience at Chokhat was awful. Besides the gorgeous atmosphere and decorations, the service and food was not to my standard. The food was overly salty and not nice to eat, due to the high sodium content, and small portions for a high, overrated price. The garlic naan was most likely the star of the night, tasty and delicious. But however, this was not the most exasperating part of the night.

This one specific waiter, which I will leave him unnamed, had very impolite manners. Whilst we were in the midst of eating, he randomly came up to us and took our plates away - there was still food, and we were still eating. After essentially stealing our plates from us, he then asked if we want our plates back. Of course, I didn’t want it back after he had taken it without any recognition of my consent, and said no. Moreover, some of the waiters were constantly staring at us - which isn’t a bad thing - but we were under discomfort of their presences.

All in all, the waiter service was disappointing (but they had sent our food fast, which we were happy about) which is the only thing I would disagree about. We will consider...

We had a milestone event we wanted to celebrate & decided on Chokhat looking at the good reviews. We booked an early table for 10 & were escourted to a clean well presented table. Harsh was serving & taking care of us along with some ladies & was patient, friendly & organised not to mention fantastic. We ordered a huge array of starters, papadi chaat, chilli paneer, chicken tikka, lamb chops, momos, kebabs, amritsari fish & tandoori chicken. Each of these were delicious seasoned very well & piping hot. Do have the popodoms & chutneys - excellent! For the mains Harsh put out clean hot plates. We ordered a variety of dishes but the tasty surprise was the lezzez baingan! The staff surprised our family member with a sparkley cake & again we noticed they all patiently stood by & smiled as we celebrated. Ever available to take pictures for us. I would whole heartedly recommend Chokhat to anyone looking for a restaurant that delivers on flavour taste & freshness along with professional staff. This restaurant has such a cozy and charming atmosphere.From the moment you walk in, you feel right at home. The warm lighting, delightful decor, and comfortable seating make it an ideal place.and The railway mutton curry , Chokhat wali daal and garlic naans was so yummy and I ate the whole thing, even though it was quite heavy for one person. lamb chops was tender and Perfectly cooked and the flavor was amazing.and open kitchen adds to the allowing you to watch the chefs in action.the chef Rana has magic in his hand how he made food so delicious I don’t know. Might be that’s magic is his love while making the food he put in too food . the overall experience is fantastic.if I talk about service it’s was wonderful every staff looks and behaves like professionals but the lady who serves us it was Barsha she is outstanding the way she welcome me and she explained me everything with full of confidence and in a polite manner .
