I have been eating Indian food for 50 years throughout the world. Without doubt, Chef Santosh at GT Road prepares the best Indian food anywhere, bar none - from the Balti Triangle in Birmingham to the bunny chows of Durban, from the Oberoi Hotel in Mumbai to the plush interiors of Manhattan, from London’s West End to the elite speciality restaurants of 5 star cruise ships. I have never eaten more delicious, authentic dishes, all made fresh from top grade spices and ingredients. The Chicken Tikka on a sizzler cast iron server is tender, bursting with succulence and a mélange only possible from the hands of a master, putting other restaurants in the shade. The Chicken Handi main course is a perfect blend of flavour and heat. The naan bread is held in the tandoori just the right length of time to make it light, fluffy and crispy. The only reason I gave four stars for atmosphere is that the beauty of the food deserves to be served in a room which is not affected by an occasional draught from the front door which opens directly into the restaurant. The room itself is dominated by a fabulous mural showing the Great Trunk Road of India, as travelled by so many throughout the years, including famously the main characters in Rudyard Kipling’s classic novel, Kim. I do not give culinary praise lightly as I am very fussy about food. If you want to experience world-beating Punjabi cuisine, head to Langley. I return whenever I am in the area.

Best punjabi food at a restaurant I've had in a long time. Butter chicken was really tasty and very authentic!! Food wasn't like restaurants these days, that have no flavour! Food and service was honestly amazing! We have had a take away before and honestly enjoyed the food, so we thought we would go to the restaurant! Position size is good for two people. Restaurant was clean and customers were flowing for a Wednesday evening! Food is not halal. Pay by cash or card. £3 service fee, which we didn't mind paying as the service was great! Don't think you can bring your own alcohol bottle, but they sell alcohol. And too the people that think it's expensive, need to go out more. This is why quality food places don't run. Far better food than any Indian restaurant in Slough and Southall!! Would definitely bring friends and family here!

Lunchtime treat at this almost secret Punjabi restaurant. At 2pm (opening time) on a Thursday we were the only customers but the service and food were excellent. Went for the mixed grill which was sizzling hot, very tasty (especially the lamb cutlet and the sheesh) and served with a most flavoursome mint sauce. Meal was completed with a paratha and a delicately spiced serving of dal makhani - a complex and difficult-to-get-right dish, this one was perfect. Lunchtime so we only drank water. £35 for two inc tip. Good value. Great initiation into GT Road. Must return in the evening and with more friends to enjoy more dishes and more of the famed family & friends atmosphere. Thank you Fernandez and chef.

Lamb Rogan Josh take away. 21st July 2023 order No.26.

Don't waste your time with a takeaway unless they rapidly sort themselves out. My brother in law recommended this joint. But then again he doesn't know anything about food anyway. Open and check your order before taking it.

6 teeny weeny pieces of lamb for £11.95 - day light robbery with your pants down!!! Was also in a smaller than normal plastic container. At £11.95, I could of bought lamb and fed the family for a month!!!

I remember, once I went to my massis house in Croydon and this lamb rogan josh tasted like that. The taste was like some overworked auntie or uncle at the back of restaurant had boiled some lamb then shoved in a tomato tin and chucked a bit of pataks masala on top. Tasteless throughout.

If I wanted boring and tasteless food, I would of got my wife to make some masarah di daal.

The only good thing was the plastic container didn't leak.

I am sat here now thinking, what do I eat now.

Come GT Road - sort it out. Will be testing it again in a weeks time. Where I will change this to a 5 star review providing you sort your stuff out.

(BTW - this should be a 1 star review but didn't want to mess their Google algorithm so gave it a 3 - hopefully we can move it to a 5 star in a weeks time)

Over and...

GT road is one of most often visited restaurant by us because we’re greeted by great smile by Fernandes and other staff. The owner is friendly and grounded.

We generally start with the mixed grill which has the most tantalizing aroma of sizzling meats - beautiful sear on the outside and a juicy, tender interior. The chef in the restaurant truly excels in the art of grilling, offering a culinary experience that is second to none. The menu boasts a variety of mouthwatering veg and non veg options, from indo-Chinese to succulent authentic North Indian food.

Each dish is expertly prepared using high-quality ingredients, and the attention to detail is evident in every bite.. Inviting and homely atmosphere with impeccable service makes an unforgettable dining experience.

It’s no wonder this restaurant has earned a reputation and always full on week days...
