Costa Coffee — Restaurant in South Derbyshire

Friday 13th May 2022 at 12:15pm, I was going through the drive through and was waiting for my food mac and cheese toasty and strawberry frape. A lady shouted “mac and cheese toasty” next thing I hear is a male voice in the back one of the member of staff say “the only best thing about the mac and cheesy toasty is just the bread may as well just get mac and cheese” I felt this comment shouldn’t be spoken by employees especially when I just paid for my food. Making me think am I getting my money worth. I feel that person should be delt with. I didn’t ask for a name but is disgusting how employees can speak like that and that loud about their company should be proud to work where they work. Not happy about this at all making me not...

I usually enjoy my Costa visits, but this time, it wasn't spectacular. The food displayed was OK, the floors were OK, I didn't check the loos, and the coffee was OK. But, paying £4 for a coffee.. I don't know what the markup is - it must be 70%. Once everything is taken out .. ingredients, logistics, franchise split, host expenses, etc .. I'm estimating costs at 27%? Leaving a divvy up of 73% between Costa & The host .. good business. Surely, wouldn't one want to make every experience special? Wouldn't one want to make the customer (me) yearn for their next visit? I spend £624 a year across several different Costa outlets, I need to earn £752 to achieve that ..that's a conservative figure. Come on, Costa ... Give me some bean...

Interesting to see another comment about a large young lady with loads of tattoos with an uninterested demeanor and cold customer service skills. We spend a lot of money for Costa coffee, I should at least expect a warm welcome and to be able to have my coffee and hot chocolate presented in cups; not 'takeaway' cups! Even then, the chocolate sprinkles 'dumped' on the coffee seemed burnt. The croissant we asked for was shoved in a bag and not on a plate. The tattooed clad young lady waiting at the exit door to throw us out! There was 20mins before closing when we arrived - this was poor...
