Nadee Restaurant — Restaurant in South Derbyshire

Had my first curry in months here and I was looking forward to it. It was after 8pm on a wednesday. We read the good reviews and thought it would be nice.

There were 4 of us, I had the lamb handhi, my dad had the chicken tikka, mum had the butter chicken and my partner had the chicken karhi. We also had pilau rice and peshwari naans + popadoms to start.

The good: the mango chutney for the popadoms was good, as was the butter chicken, karhi and peshwari naans.

The bad: the lamb handhi was really bland and disappointing. My dad's chicken tikka was t great, the chicken was massively rubbery. The mint sauce for the popadoms was bland and a not tastey at all. The same goes for onion salad condiment, which was in some weird tasteless watery "sauce".

The service: overall the service was slow and inattentive. One of the waiters was good, an older chap didn't seem to know what was going on. A younger chap just seemed like he didn't want to be there. So, not great.

Overall very disappointed, maybe the standard is slipping? Maybe we got there late? Does that mean we deserve...

Weddings play a big role in all of our life's, when I contacted Nadee Restaurant I was 100% convinced that this is the place when I spoke to the management on the phone. NAV & VICKY asked me to drop in for a tour & provided a snacks while discussing the wedding event. Notes were made everything from start to finish was a done in a professional manner. On the day both were present which was one less stress to worry about. They were very courteous, and extremely accommodating to our guests all who came from different parts of the country. The function rooms were immaculately clean 👌 you can even see your reflection through the marble floor, so much light in the building & outside a massive carpark with a security attendant directing vehicles on approach. Had a lovely meal here last night, food was good and well set up for social distancing. What made our evening though was the great service, especially by Nav who was very knowledgeable about how all the dishes were made and genuinely wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal- not just a half hearted " is everything ok with your food". I was quite upset to overhear him being heavily criticised by another diner who was ignoring all the social distancing instructions to shout at him loudly in the restaurant. She seemed to think he had been rude to her, which I found surprising given how friendly and polite he had been to our table.
