This pub possesses one of the rudest and most patronising staff members I have ever met. I am a 19 year old woman and as I forgot my ID (I did not realise until at the bar). I then quickly opted for a Pepsi as we had travelled to see our friends that had recently come back from university so I wanted to at least have a drink. I was told that 'kids' are not allowed in the pub after 9 o'clock by a bearded staff member (whilst he was drinking on his shift). Never have I been so offended and appalled by a member of staff at one of my local pubs. We left immediately, my partner told the staff what he thought of the situation and was told to 'sort his attitude out'. What kind of pub employes this kind of rudeness? We then were served by Amy and just like James, she was very welcoming and friendly. Our third encounter was, what i can only describe as a below average height Dwarf, known as Shackles. He was very friendly, though he would be better off next time we visit, to wear a bag over his head, if not to just stop our beer turning bad. Just to cap...we had a brilliant time and its our pleasure, to recommend this pub, for good decent and...

Everyone is so friendly, its a fantastic place to relax on your own or make new friends. There area some great live bands on from time to time. This pub should be the blue print for all local pubs. Even man's best friend is mot welcome, and they soon earn where their special jar on the bar is! Serves the most delicious a la carte McCoys crisps and luxury pork scratchings. Failing that, order a pint and scoot over the road and grab a bag of chips whilst it's...
