First visit after taking the ferry over from East Portlemouth for a pre-beach breakfast. Thankfully we had booked ahead because they were short-staffed so had limited tables. Dog friendly and nicely laid out interior. Lovely service, very friendly especially from what I assume is the owner. Good quality home-cooked food and drinks from the combined breakfast and lunch menu ("brunch"). The menu was varied without being too adventurous. Very poor. The food is grossly overpriced and I assume the chef was having a day off when myself and friends visited. The open ham sandwich (from the daily, 'specials', it certainly was!!) consisted of one thin slice of buttered bread with a meagre portion of ham, a minute cardboard pot of coleslaw and the same of pickle. All for £8:10p. The sausage sandwich was two thin slices of bread containing two chewy sausages which wouldn't have made it into the savers section in the local supermarket. Do yourself a favour and find another place to eat. Ah well -...

The vibe in here is great and the wooden floors, high ceilings and range of seating really makes you feel comfortable. The coffee and soft drinks are of high quality as were the full English breakfasts which we devoured. The place is very clean and all the staff were friendly and looked like they wanted to be there, unlike other establishments. The food wasn’t greasy either and was piping hot.
