Not visited for a while and there’s a new manager in place. On arrival we were told that your booked table “was in there with your name on it”. The open fires have been replaced with what looks like dog baskets so the atmosphere seemed cold. Food was ok by the way and as the evening progressed we were being pushed to move on. At this point the restaurant was less than half full with no one waiting to sit to eat. I asked for an Irish coffee and the reply was simply “no”.Then out of the blue he exited from the kitchen grabbed our glasses which weren’t empty and said” we are closing in 5 minutes please leave” . The portions are considerably small now, I know the cost of living has hit everyone but surely with what's served you can't still push the price up. I had the salmon and I felt like I was pushing a salt container around my mouth. My companion had the crab linguine and let's just say we needed a magnifying glass to find the crab, and the pasta tasted of rubber. We are so so disappointed and feel robbed of our money. Read moreWe went for a roast dinner here after a walk on the Moor on a Sunday. They welcomed our us warmly as well as our muddy collie dog and took our order promptly. We didn't have long to wait and we had a marvellous roast lunch with a plate of vegetables to share as well for £16.00. It really was a great meal with generous portions. The bathroom was clean and tidy with attention to detail with sprays and products available to use if necessary, which was welcome after our moorland walk!
