Ordered from Everest Inn on NYE, was expecting a good experience with them as they were highly recommended around town but to say I was let down was an understatement. I ordered on their website around 5:30/6pm due to knowing how busy it would be, was advised it would take around 90 minutes to arrive, which I could understand. After 90 minutes had passed, I had received no food or had any further updates from their website, so I tried to call them. Their line was engaged, and was so for approximately the next 2 hours, meaning I had no way of getting in touch with them. Another hour passed, and after numerous call attempts to an engaged line (obviously turned off), an email, a WhatsApp and a Facebook message to their page, with no response, the food turns up, albeit delivered by the rudest delivery man, but it came. We ordered 2 currys, chips, chicken starter, rice and bread. We received 1 very cold and bland curry, cold and dry chips and rice and soggy starters. We didn't even receive our whole order nor did we receive edible food, after a 2 and a half hour wait. I could not get in touch with the takeaway either as their phone lines were still off so could not even try to get a replacement or the missing items.
About an hour or so after the food was delivered, a family member managed to get in touch with them, to be dealt with by minimal customer service just saying it was new year and they've been busy, offering to replace the missing curry. At this point we had opted for Chinese so didn't want the curry anymore and they offered to refund the missing curry. When calling to speak to myself the next day, I informed them that I understood it was new year and it was busy, the wait time wasn't the issue, it was the wait time that ended with very poor quality food with no way to resolve that was the issue. None of the food was eaten and I had requested a refund for the whole meal, I had told them that if they had answered their phone i would have returned the food to them but as it was the next day it was a bit stale by then. I was informed they were calling to get my details to refund the curry and when I said i wanted the whole meal refunding I was told I would receive a call from the manager or owner or whatever to discuss. Very far from my surprise, they have not called, and I shouldn't imagine they will actually make an attempt to resolve this.
I'm sure Everest Inn normally provide an amazing service as they are well spoken of around town, however they fell far from short on this occasion, and with no care or attempt to rectify, it just shows their lack of customer service and respect for the quality of service they provide. Will never recommend nor try these again.
If possible, please can I still get my refund... not expecting this to happen but hey ho. Don't ask...
Read moreAugust 2023 Have dropped my review down from 5 to 3 stars for a couple of reasons. The prices were already quite high, and they have jumped up significantly - but curiously they don't seem to want to advertise this fact as the prices on both their website and in the takeaway menus obtained from the restaurant whilst not dated are all "out of date" and seemingly have been for months(?!). Only the paper in-restaurant sheet menus have the correct pricing. In other words, if you are ordering takeaway and think you have done your sums correctly, think again and be prepared for a shock when it comes to pay. The quality of the food has dropped - certainly for takeaway - most noticeably the side-dishes and accompaniments. As another reviewer had pointed out, the onion bhajis whilst still tasting the same are now wafer thin and you're paying £5.50 for two of them. That's shockingly bad value. The Naan are also not nearly as good as they used to. I had peshauri and it used to be more of a paste-like filling which held together but now it is basically all dried crumbs inside that falls out and goes everywhere.
Considering this place has recently knocked-through to expand their premises, I expected better.
May try again at some point in the future. Eating in the restaurant might yield better...
Read moreI've been using the Everest since they have opened for dining in and takeaway, but last night , first of all we were seated our orders were taken, we got our poppadoms then there was several flies flying around our table and our food , this did persist and we told a waiter of the situation and we did move tables . We continued with our meal , the starters came , but then waiting for the main course !!!!!!! We were waiting over 40 minutes and still no food , we did ask where our food was they said a few minutes , 10 minutes later 1 main and 2 sides came, then 2 mains came out , both of them were incorrect and was not was ordered ,we told them straight away , they said they would sort it out , but left the other dishes in the table, only with my prompting did they take them off the table to keep warm, the correct dishes were then bought out and with the other dishes , the food was ok , not up to the standard of which we've had before At the end of the meal, we only got a sorry for the mistake, nothing about the slow service We'll have to seriously think about eating there again Somewhere that was so good , is...
