Early evening on a cold day it was very cold inside with the front door left open. I suggest closing the door to no avail so hugging the radiators was required.
Food presentation was fantastic but for the small portions the price is high compared to the likes of those in and around kings cross in London. It was more flair than subtstance and Im not sure the local market wants fancy presentation when they are simply hungary.
The peshwari naan just was not correct. Better from tesco. It was almost plain with a dash of coconut and my guest thought it was a very doughy pancake rather than a naan.
440 ml canned bitter in a pint glass just did not look right. get some 500 ml cans. The bottled water was more expensive than the beer per ml.
Service was good a friendly and all the food was edible. Same meal in London would mhave been 40% less in cost and 40% greater in volume. 2 small chunks of grilled salmon with a 2 lumps of potatoe and a similar amount of cauliflower just did not make a main even with the upturned cold white rise and a few bits of fancy...

We sat down and offered drinks and food menus, after we were given our drinks about 10 minutes minutes in, we realised the door upstairs was ajar and a cold draught was blowing down the stairs, it wasn't an arctic blast but noticeable, our starters arrived and I can say the chicken pakora was very tasty.
I stuck to my go to main of chicken tikka masala and pilau rice, the sauce was creamy and delicious. My wife had Lamb Biriany, it had a plentiful amount of rice, the only thing she was not keen on was the vegetables, she said that they felt frozen in the middle.... The service was good and will definitely be...
Read moreService was OK, food was so so at best. The meat based meals ( curries) seemed to be comprised of a flavoured "gravy" with meat ( I'm pretty sure the chicken was reclaimed) added afterwards. What didn't help to the atmosphere was the temperature, it was freezing and extremely draughty, I had to eat with my outside jacket on.
Additionally they don't deserve coffee or draught beer but the only saving grace were the week chilled Cobra beers.
It's probably OK for a post pub meal but not when taste buds are fully engaged. Sorry but this is not the Mumtaz I visited...
