I live locally and had family come to visit. I booked the table online to ensure we'd get seated. On arrival, the member of staff didn't have the booking as they'd printed out the sheet before I made the booking, she then checked the system and confirmed we did have a table. We sat down and decided on our order (7 of us, all choosing burgers or pizzas) went to the bar to order to be told there were no burgers or pizzas so had to go back to the table to get alternative options. Back to the bar again, my sister chose curry, I was then told there was no rice, but they could do it with chips. I couldn't believe we weren't told on arrival what was off the menu, and then again when ordering alternatives! I said to the member of staff that it would be ok if we were comped some free cheesy garlic bread, or extra poppadoms etc and I was met with a blank look and asked if I needed to order anything else. Our table was for 1pm. Food came out at gone 2pm and was not worth the wait. Chicken was dry, curry was more like a chutney so to be served with naan and chips was a lot of carbs with no sauce to dip into. When it came to paying, our complaints were voiced and again, just met with a blank stare. No apology, no offer to take anything off the bill. Terrible service and mediocre food. Such a shame as usually it's ok but it's not somewhere I'll take family again....

I ate here for the first time with two friends early in the evening on a Saturday in January 2023. Oh dear! We had three main courses, a Hunter's Chicken, a Classic Burger and a Chicken Tikka Masala, none of which was really good at all. They seemed as if they'd been prepared by someone with very little skill or thought. Just not good enough when there are so many other places to eat in Bourne and nearby. In addition, you have to queue up in what was a busy bar to buy a drink and tell them you have a table booked. They tell you the table number, which you then have to find. Then you have to look at the menus on the table and return to the busy bar area, queue up again, order your food and pay for it. Not a great experience at all and not an experience I'll be repeating. Sorry but not for me. I would...

First time here and although I am not sure about returning for dinner I might for lunch. Not a fan of queuing in a school dinner type line up to order food and drinks at the only counter open, overall 15 minutes to get to the bar on a busy Friday evening despite having booked a table. Don't know if this is cause and effect of the pandemic. I'm aware pubs are having a tough time so I don't like to give a bad review but had I known that nothing can be ordered from your table at any point during your visit then I would probably have a drink here because it is quite nicely set out but head somewhere else to eat. The menu is very restricted again possible scenario due to the pandemic, even so I would have expected a few more menu choices. Didn't have pudding the queue to order was...

We chose Smiths for Christmas Dinner as one of the few places open in Bourne Christmas Day. The service between courses was slow and we had to chase. The food was good and tasty but my toast with my soup was burnt and there was only three small slices of baguette style bread. The atmosphere was limited as we were stuck away in the top corner of the upstairs near the ladies toilets. Having said all this the food was tasty, it was presented ok and the courses represented good value. If I did it again I would ask to move tables as we ate late and there was free tables. I would also ask the service between courses to be quicker. But would recommend for sure!

Visited for a kids birthday meal with the family. 6 of us eating, they are currently offering food 50% off! The customer service was fairly slack, from entering to leaving we spent a good 90 mins! Both myself and my wife both had the rib eye, medium well, it was fantastic, kids had mix of beef burger, chicken burger all day breakfast bap, all the buns were burnt as you can see. Over all the food was good, but like I previously mentioned, the service was a little slow. Drinks seemed pricey, nearly £10 for a cider and pint of lager. Worth a visit even just for the 50% off food.

Smiths used to be a fabulous place when Mick Thurlby owned it, but since the new owners have taken over it has gone down hill and fast. We went for lunch today and was told there would be a 45 minute for food, fair enough for telling me. It then took 90 minutes to get scampi & chips and a steak sandwich. The sandwich was the saddest looking thing I have seen in a long time! I only saw 3 members of staff there and they didn’t have the time to empty any tables with dirty dishes everywhere.
