Horrendous food the most incompetent management I have ever encountered. Bad bad bad.
I expect and accept that the food is going to be bad but when it is so bad that it cannot be eaten I do expect an apology.
Arrived just after two, served by a very polite young lady who took our order. Within a short time our meal arrived at our table delivered by a very polite young man. The chicken burger was burnt and cold and not suitable for consumption, the beef burger was lukewarm but just about edible, the chips and onion rings were nice and hot.
I returned to the bar with my plate, several members of staff both behind the bar and on the floor made eye contact with me, then ignored me.
Eventually I managed to get the attention of a staff member, with time becoming an issue I explained that the chicken burger was too cold to be eaten and asked to be refunded.
The member of staff said she would need to get a member of management to make the refund and off she went, after awhile when no one had returned I asked another member of staff if they cold sort out the issue and find a member of management.
Eventually a member of management arrived, I explained that the burger was cold and I would like a refund, at which stage the manager attempted to imply that it was my fault the burger was cold, I pointed out that the burger was so cold that the thin slice of cheese directly on top of the chicken had not even started to melt. At no point did the manager offer an apology either for the cold food or the wait.
The manager was then unable to use the till to make the refund. I stated that time was really an issue and that if the refund could not be sorted, I would leave a Google review.
The manager then asked for assistance from a young member of staff who began to sort the issues straight away, but the manager rather than let the girl sort out the refund, demanded that the girl give her lessons on how to use the till.
Eventually I am told the refund is sorted, at which point I asked the manager if she is new to management, as generally an apology would be appropriate for serving such poor quality food and the delay in sorting the issue, thanked the other polite member of staff and left.
After driving over an hour away it is discovered that the refund had failed and that the price of another burger had been taken from the bank.
As the service from the manager had been so rude and unprofessional I made a phone call to explain that rather than having made a refund they had infact taken for another burger. The duty manager told me that it was my fault that the manager was unable to use the till, because she was stressed that I had asked to be refunded.
I was told that I would have to make a drive of several hours there and back before 1am tomorrow to be refunded but it couldn't be done after that.
I asked for the contact details of the head office, but apparently the duty manager doesn't have the contact details. The duty manager can take the card details then ask the head office to look into making refund for the cold burger and stolen money. The same head office she has no contact details for.
So no apology for a burnt cold burger, no refund and apparently management that blame customers for the bad food, and then other management that blame customers for untrained management.

Read moreWe did not enjoy our meal here sadly. The gluten free options are not indicated on the menu at all, instead you need to look at the wetherspoons website for the gluten free choices. Once we managed this after not finding it clearly online and needing guidance from a staff member we ordered our food and specifically stated which meal was for a child with gluten intolerance and we didn't want the nann bread ( as not gluten free) but will have an extra poppadom. The waitress brought the meal out with a nann bread on the plate touching the rice and poppadoms so there is a clear lack of communication and a lack of respect for a customers dietary requirements. The food was nothing special at all sadly then we ordered dessert and straight away 2 options we would have chosen were unavailable so we had to make different choices, then after 30 minutes half melted ice cream arrived 2 scoops instead of the requested 3, then the apple crumble and custard had ice cream on instead of custard, and they completely missed one dessert which we sat waiting for but then realised it wasn't coming so alerted a staff member who then got the manager after 5 minutes then he didn't have time to listen properly to the fact the order was wrong for 2 other people he just brought out a bowl of ice cream and run away sweating. We were so looking forward to dining here as we've waited a year for it to open but sadly I doubt we will be returning....

When I politely asked for my missing items this morning, the rude and lazy woman serving (Dark hair/short/large/no name tag) came and sarcastically dumped items on our table with zero apologies whilst smirking, as if I was wrong asking for what I paid for!! Never asked if our meal was okay either. No suprise there. Having worked in customer service my entire life, I have to say what an awful attitude to display. Think you need to get on indeed, cheer yourself up and take up some basic training. There is a reason why jobs are constantly being advertised here. I didn't even bother to mention the cold breakfast, which again is ridiculous considering most of it is microwaved to death anyway. I'm unsure of why that basic requirement couldn't even be met!
