Costa Coffee — Restaurant in South Norfolk

I have few joys in life; one of them being, once in a while, buying coffee. So watching as someone, slowly takes my hard earned minimum wage, and procedes to produce, with no care at all, the most disgusting thing I have ever drunk, is quite upsetting. I think the most agonising part off this is I also make coffee in my part time job, so I know that what I was witnessing was going to produce... well whatever that was. A Few tips: When you do not clean the portafilter out from previously made coffee and leave some of the old used coffee in it, instead of producing "coffee" it produces a sort of brown bitter tasting liquid with some caffeine in it( this is because the coffee that was previously used get's burned ). When frothing milk the trick is to froth it so it's smooth and silky light, not just watery foam( which you do by holding the steamer in the correct height of the milk jug whilst you are steaming it ). I understand coffee is not a life time passion for the people working there ( neither is it mine), but making the thing you're selling drinkable would be great. Costa workers seems to know what they actually doing. Barista is Barista not just a bloke with coffee machine. So where do I begin. Service is excellent they do trying best to keep up with orders, coffee always taste really good as I think they do clean machine after shift done ( I know that's crazy all this machine cleaning but yeah it does work) Cakes are fresh music is playing. It's always crowded and this is minus for me but hay I can't have it all right? Also minus is when they do some cold drinks with ice, o mate it is loud as hel. But I'd choose Costa in Diss over other cafes especially becose of good tasting coffee and...

The poor lad making coffees right now needs help meeting the orders of customers queuing to the door ... while his colleagues do inane things like fill the cutlery drawer, replace the glasses on the shelf, empty a bin!!! Customers customers customers are the business. The first priority. Not the cutlery, glasses, bin. This is Christmas. Costa has invested hugely in licences for special cobranded coffees like Tolblerone or Terry's. But the staff are making a misery of what should be a joyous moment and a Starbucks beating promotion.
