Breakfast at the Angel Inn Loddon, the building is beautiful! On entrance you have the option to go left into the “main” building or right into a private room, the owners have created a relaxed and calm atmosphere! This location is definitely value over quantity so if you want a big breakfast for a small price this wouldn’t be the ideal place for you! You can find the menu on their website, they run a build a breakfast service, where you select what you want, therefore individual items are priced, they do have example breakfast on the website to give you an idea. The attention to detail was much appreciated, with the apple juice being served with wafer-thin slices on apple; delicious! Also the bacon is deconstructed and the fat is cooked separately for extra crunch! And the bread is made in house and incredibly tasty! Even the pepper hand grind which I’d never seen before all added to the experience. The lady whose name I didn’t catch, was extremely friendly and attentive (had a little ding 🛎️ bell, as we had sat in the private room) overall very happy, and will be recommending to friends and family who are looking for somewhere special for breakfast! “Personally I like the option of potatoes for breakfast also like a hash brown which weren’t on the menu. Additionally the napkins are on the small side as I’m known for being a bit messy sometimes”

I can't believe I had been living so close to this beautiful welcoming pub for so long without going in! Myself and a friend have popped in twice for a cup of tea the last two weeks and have been made to feel really welcome. The attention to detail in how things have been put together is beautiful. This morning we timed it right to try try one of the fruit scones straight out of the oven. Baked fresh daily in the kitchen, It didn't disappoint! I didn't order any alcohol but there looked like lots of choices available. There's a room to the side with some board games and a beautiful giant table. There is seating round the back for dry sunny days. You can easily spend a good few hours socialising with friends or quietly doing some work in the corner, I would feel comfortable visiting alone. There is a car park just a short walk away if you are visiting by car which offers two hours free parking. The local bus also stops close by. There are local walking routes to head off on or it would make a perfect end to your days walking. If you've been thinking of popping in I would definitely recommend giving this place a try.

We went to The Angel last night at the recommendation of friends who came with us to share the evening, having enjoyed the platters so much on a prior occasion. We were able to enjoy our evening at a secluded table at the back of the pub, enabling us to chat freely. We had pre ordered a fish and meat platter..When Frank brought out the platter we were amazed at the superb presentation and quantity of superb food. We have enjoyed many platters during our travels but this far exceeded our expectations. Frank then proceeded to explain the local source of each item. He then brought out warm, home made sour dough rolls in the shape of an ear or wheat ro break off and enjoy with the platter. We had chosen the fish selection, every item was absolutely delicious! We accompanied the meal with crafted beer, wine and gin, all excellent. Service was super friendly and excellent. We highly recommend!, not to be missed.

Visited Friday 25th May, couples, for the second time, for Brunch.

Positives, the co-owner-front of house was effervescent as ever, and a real asset

The same can’t be said for her business and relationship partner, who is the cook.

Whilst they boast of artisanal free-range produce, and this is laudable and noble-the 47 minute wait was not reflected in the quality of some of the presented food.

My poached eggs on toast resembled and had the consistency of hard-boiled eggs, and this was quite mind-boogling, given the time it took to arrive, and my free-range slice of bacon must have originated from a Pygmy Marque of pig🤔

The ‘cook’ needs help or advice in optimal service, as commercialism is not so relaxed as Academia🤔

The business model here is flawed (ex- business owner 92 staff) all breakfast items are priced at £2 EACH, excepting mushrooms I believe, and ordering a full ‘English’- (1 item each) does not qualify for a discount ? So a ‘Full English’ could prove prohibitively costly

They have been open for nearly a year and service is very slow-to the point of irritation.

They will have to decide-ex schoolteachers- if they want this as a commercial success or just a very ‘boutiquish’ drop in cafe/pub for ‘The Langley set’ which I do not think will pay the bills, even if it does suit their altruistic aims.

There were dogs in the restaurant -one being fed by it’s female owner from her breakfast plate-whilst not illegal-not very conducive to visiting again, dogs can’t avoid shedding hairs, and constantly restless.

This could be a great spot, but ‘dreams’ have to be tempered with reality, if this pleasant pub/cafe/drop in centre ? is to flourish.

Once again, top marks to front of...
