We visited The White Horse on a Sunday evening in November. I'd checked the menu online and it looked interesting, if not extensive and called to check whether we would need to book a table. I was was told that they were quiet and just to arrive, but that food was only available until 19:00. On arrival, we were told to choose where to sit and once seated were given menus. With choices made and the order taken, we did not have to wait long for the starters to arrive. Presentation was superb and the food lived up to all expectations. We had selected roast sirloin of beef for the main course (it was Sunday after all) which didn't disappoint either, beautifully cooked and presented. With room for dessert, the wife had ice cream, but I opted for the crumble of the day, which was apple, with custard. Clearly home made, it was the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. I would not describe the food here as 'pub grub,' it was more special than that. Good food and friendly service - what more to be said, other than we will be back to further sample the culinary delights when next in the area.

I had a fantastic mother's day meal at the White Horse today with dear friends and my two teenage children. We were greeted by the new landlord with complimentary prosecco and a truffle style chocolate for the mum's that were dining. We all had a fantastic 2 course meal. There was a wide range to choose from and the pricing was incredibly reasonable with two courses for approx £25 3 of our diners chose the roasts, my son had venison and I had the sea bass and saffron prawns. My overall favourite was the starter, it was simple, delicious and cooked to perfection. I've attached a photo We then sampled their new cocktail menu, the teens had the mocktails and I had a sex on the beach and an espresso martini for dessert. It was such a nice treat to have a glass full of cocktail as opposed to a glass half filled with ice (which seems to be the norm nowadays) All the staff were really friendly and attentive, it really did feel like a special treat in a relaxed atmosphere! Thanks everyone! Looking forward to eating with you again soon

Traditional pub, small but cosy with that smell from the fire is comforting. Great atmosphere. We were able to book for a table of 9 on the same day in Easter holidays. I had the salmon with crushed boiled potatoes, it was just perfect. I would definitely eat that again. It wasn't heavy on the stomach either but it filled me up. Unfortunately I was unable to have a pudding but they sounded delicious. My other half had the lamb, when it came out it looked stunning. They even made the jus specially for him without the onion, nothing was too much trouble. He said he was very glad to have come out to dinner, he is a big fan of lamb. One of our party, who is South African and loves a Braii, said his steak was perfect, he was very pleased with his meal. The lady serving us was great, never seemed too busy and was on hand if we needed anything. I wish I had a longer holiday so I could come back!

100% worthy of the fabulous reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👌 Norfolk little gem 💎

We passed this place as we walked around Chedgrave when we were staying in Lodden for the first time between Christmas and Newyear. Regular visitors of Norfolk we always look for different places to visit. We popped by one evening in the hope for food and although we hadnt booked and we were the last diners of the day they welcomed us. We were not disappointed! (I recommend booking) as we were welcomed even though it was quieting down we were the last customers of the eve.

The menus were refreshing, some legendary classics and some good veggie options for me too!

Its very rare to get quality service, food and atmosphere and this place delivers all in abundance.

We went for New Year eve dinner too and consistent again, Tom was lovely as were the 2 ladies

Rare we ever visit the same place twice as life's short n there's so much to see n do... but we came back in January too for the comedy evening which was hosted by Kai Barron who clearly is passionate about comedy and gave a great show. We were served by Nathan, Simon, Tom and Carol this time and the food (yes we ate here again) was delicious 😋 A lovely place with really lovely friendly locals too!

Thank you you lovely lot, we looking forward to coming back again.
