If it wasn't for the fact the government paid half, I would give them 0 stars. Let's start from the start... Called ahead and booked a table for outside (6pm was still 30°C). Upon arriving we were told outside was fully booked and we had to sit inside on the smallest most crampt table in the entire restaurant. We told them we had definitely booked a table outside and by coincidence they managed to get us one as some people left. At this point we had already ordered drinks but still no menu (remember this point, it features regularly through the meal). 30 minutes after arrival our drinks come we have to ask for a menu. 20 minutes later we wave a member of staff over to come and actually take our order. Food eventually came but weren't given cutlery. we had burgers so didn't ask for them (burger came out not askasked for). Our garlic bread was more like French toast with tiny (and I mean tiny) hint of garlic. Another couple came and sat outside near us, they had to ask for a menu after a good while too. All whilst this is happening there is a table reserved which was approached by a few members of staff looking confused and looked over at us and then removed the reservation sign. (I'm guessing that it was actually supposed to be our table from the start). Dessert wasn't too much hassle, although whilst looking around there were loads of people either waiting to order or waiting to pay. When we finished our desert, another table came and sat outside, guess what?! They had to ask for a menu after waiting and waiting too! I didn't see 1 adult the entire evening, all were young teenagers. It's all lacking standard customer service (we weren't asked during our meal if...
Read moreThe White Hart has changed. It's now under new management and has been refurbished. The landlord runs it with his wife and he is very welcoming, and eager to please. He has a good personality and the atmosphere in the pub is very comfortable.
I was there with a group of ladies who meet for coffee in Wymondham once a month. This is the third venue we've tried in the last 2 years, and by far the best. We will definitely make it our base. Wednesday is coffee and cake morning and a very nice chocolate homemade cake was on offer.
Coffee is good and there's a nice selection of gins and all the usual beverages. There is a very reasonably priced menu offering basic pub grub with a little twist. Didn't eat this time so can't judge the food, but it looks good.
All staff are very friendly. The place is very clean and the loo even has baby changing sundries. Families are very welcome, there's even a box of toys for the children. Dogs are also welcome and there is a gorgeous puppy who lives there. I will definitely go again. The new patrons have really pulled out all the stops to turn this...
Read moreSadly twice experienced unwelcoming, unfriendly, awful reception & non existing service, the last time (a week ago) we walked in there, there was only one couple drinking their Ale, the rest of the place was empty, I asked the lady behind the counter if the restaurant was open she answered in the most hostile manner :“yes” we proceeded to our table, waited for 15 min, no staff bothered to stop by our table so judging by the way we were received we gathered we were clearly not welcome there and we were (after waiting for so long & no excuses as it was completely and utterly empty ) not going to get any service, so we proceeded to the next pub/restaurant. Such a shame as it has great potential but no Heart (excuse the pun, but so fitting)😡/😔 you really need to train your staff to put on a friendly face to ALL customers, I.e. brush up on customer service! From the time they enter the restaurant to when they are seated right through till when they leave...doesn’t look like your business can afford...
