Wild Lemongrass — Restaurant in South Oxfordshire

Took ages to try this Chinese as didn’t think it would be as good as others because it’s in a sports centre for some mad reason. Have now had about 4 takeaways and each is better than the last. Have eaten in some really plush Chinese restaurants over the years and I honestly think this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Always steaming hot when it arrives (and always on time) and we’re 5 miles out of Thame. Large portions, well wrapped but most importantly everything is so fresh and tastes delicious. As an example chicken in fried rice often tastes a bit old or like it’s from an off cut - theirs tastes like pure chicken breast and as though it was cooked fresh and just put in the rice. Sadly very disappointed with a takeaway I had delivered from Wild Lemongrass. Typically the food is acceptable, I had an issue when ordering online a while back as according to the lady on reception my request for no garlic wasn't picked up on due to the on-line ordering system not forwarding "notes" through to the kitchen. As aforementioned the food is typically ok so I placed another order, as previously advised this time, by phone due to the on-line ordering issue. Again a request for no garlic, this is due to an absolute dislike not an allergy, thankfully as I could have been reaching for an Epi-pen!! On the bright side a wasted bit of cash is favorable to a serious health incident. I would urge anyone with serious allergy issues to avoid...

2022-3* Ordered for the first time. Said would take 1hr 20 mins but took 2hours. Prices are higher than everywhere else and the dishes were not full. We also got given a wrong dish. The chilli beef was moist and crispy which was good.

Hopefully if we use again next time will be better in all areas.

2025-5* Tried again, Forget they were there. Will deffo be my new go to Chinese. The seaweed is the best ( small and crispy ) Chilli beef is moist and lots of sauce. Sweet and sour sauce nice and thick and VERY flavoursome. Chicken skewers moist and saucy. Really good portion size and everything has its own flavour. Fluffy rice and nice chow-main. We also got free prawn crackers. So glad we tried here again.
