Puccini at Cop Lane Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in South Ribble

Extremely disappointing! Cold, dried up & a long wait!

After hearing good things about Puccini"s, I decided to place an order for delivery. We waited 1hr & 20 mins for it to be delivered, (I don't mind waiting if it's very tasty).

The garlic bread with cheese was extremely dry, couldn't taste any garlic AND it was stone cold.

The pineapple pizza was sprinkled with lots of herbs (which is new to me) - this was also stone cold, & hard to tear, not just because it hadn't been sliced properly.

The amount of Curley fries that came in the little carton, looked like half had been eaten. Mixed into the Curley fries were little bits of black fries, that was probably left in the bottom of the frier.

Regarding the delivery time - I can only assume that my order had gone on a 'ride along' whilst another customers order/s had been delivered - hence the long wait.

The burger was ok, but again, you guessed it, it was cold.

I would have rang and explained, but after the long wait, & with very hungry small children, I refrained. We didn't enjoy it, & we threw most of it away, forcing just enough down our throats to eliminate the hunger.

First rule of 'takeaway club' - you don't send out cold food. Second rule - you don't send out cold food.

I would like to think that this was maybe a 'one off', & doesn't happen often. Maybe I was just unlucky! But, I wont be ordering again in a hurry.

Overall - a total waste of money, & a ghastly...

This is mostly for the Pizza takeaway as I don't eat-in at restaurants very often, but the pizza from Puccini's is always incredible. I've been ordering from them since I moved in 2019 and should've done a review sooner; the staff are always friendly and welcoming, the manager always does his best for the customers, and they do an amazing job of feeding the community for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended, and at some point, I really want to try and stop in at the restaurant proper for a meal.

For the record, I ordered a chili sauce, garlic, sundried tomato, blue cheese and steak pizza tonight (as it's Two for One on Tuesday), and (I assume) the manager had the garlic and the chilli sauce mixed into the tomato base on my pizza, under the cheese--and the result is incredible and I would love this to be the main method from now on when requested with these toppings.

To sum up; amazing local place, great...

Ordered at 6pm for collection, was told it would be ready at 6.17pm. Arrived at 6.20pm to wait a further 25 minutes. Whilst waiting I saw the chef open a tub of pre-cooked pasta and grab handfuls of it with his bare hands and throw into the pan. No scoop or gloves used, and just wiped his hand on a tea towel afterwards which then got chucked back on the side. I'm sure Food Safety Standards would find that interesting. Once finally home with the food, the seafood pasta was a measly portion and once I got over the image of his sweaty hands all over it, I tried it and certainly didn't expect hard and rubbery frozen seafood mix to have been used. Safe to say it went in the bin. Pizza/garlic bread "ok" but nothing special. The service was bad, the poor girls out front were red faced and struggling in a stressed environment with unhappy looking customers all waiting much longer than they were told.
