Sizzling Wok Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in South Staffordshire

I wish I could rate this less than 1 star. I am disgusted by the whole experience at this establishment, to summarise the night I would describe it as a night of mayhem and incompetence. I went for a friends birthday dinner with a fairly large party we ordered drinks and they were wrong, a member of our party who was diabetic recieved a full fat coke and after a little dispute between ourselves and the staff we had to settle with someone else giving up their diet coke for them, why not replace it? We ordered our starters 3 different times and only recieved half of what we had ordered. Our frustration grew as we noticed we had already been there for our 2 hour time slot by the time we were attempting to sort out our orders. Food was coming out that kitchen to every table in the restaurant however by the disappointment on other customers faces and the arguments at the different tables they were unsatisfied with the food they weren't receiving as well. This lack of satisfaction and food was confirmed by the amount of small tables walking out and or treating the night like a bidding war for food. As hunger grew the restaurant became a shambles more people walking out than staying in due to the unprofessionalism and incompetence as well as the inability to handle the amount of customers in the restaurant. The staff had no problem inviting people in, however after over 2 hours waiting time for food its surely not an environment or atmosphere anyone wants to be in. To conclude the lack of communication and control in the restaurant was shown by the manager telling us we will only have to pay for the alcoholic beverages on our bill (2 drinks) but not our soft drinks or the little food we had, which we agreed too. The waitress then proceeded to attempt in charging us for our drinks and food until we had to tell her what her own manager said. The bill of drinks she had given us was not even our drinks they were from another table. In the meantime their regular customers were walking out offended at them asking for any money at all even for the alcoholic beverages. We left the restaurant leaving a distraught waitress clearly very stressed from all the drama. There were no positives to take away from this experience. I really enjoyed the chinese take away from Good All in Wolverhampton so would recommend...

Took too long to get to me and food was straight out the freezer.

Firstly, the food.. other than the stir fry I ordered and a colleague did the same it looked like it was out of a Sainsbury’s Chinese special sharer for a New Year’s party. Samosas were shockingly bad, chow mein egg noodles I’ve seen super noodles with more texture and denser. The salt and pepper chips we ordered for 2 and got less than a hand full then they still didn’t taste like the real thing we’re just chips with a little bit of topping. Obviously we couldn’t order the whole menu but we ordered a good variety and they asked us to stop, thought it was all you can eat?

Soon as we arrived it was fine service was good at the bar, sat down within 5 minutes without reservation so no complaints there good… BUT, from ordering my drink waiting for them to come back (bare in mind you have 2 hours from your order to finish) took 15/20 minutes, tried flagging them down and all I got from the distance was a ‘finger’ to wait (index finger not middle of course) even so I found this extremely unprofessional. The lady towards the end of our night there because we got served by three different ladies was lovely. We actually said the crispy chicken was so rubbery it wasn’t edible she said sorry and took it away, It’s obvious it’s a well known establishment locally and does fairly well but I will not be coming back by choice unless organised by family or friends and I don’t get a say.

For the size of the venue and being an all you can eat served to your table it doesn’t feel like it works for the customer, was a Saturday night and late it was still obvious there’s cracks in the flow of...

Absolutely appalled at the service we received during our “two hour slot.” We came to the sizzling wok as a celebration for my cousins birthday, we have a fairly reasonably sized family so we’re giving to an extent of how long food may take to come out although I was not expecting within this 2 hour time slot to have only have received our first starters and some of us didn’t even receive that. Looking around us nobody else appeared to be receiving any food either and what food was being received was all wrong, the staff seemed to just be giving out any old meal to any table to the point where people had got that fed up and hungry they were just accepting these random meals. Numerous tables left and walked out due to the outrageous service received including us. This “all you can eat” should be re-named “how much you can’t eat.” After 2 hours we were still yet to receive all of our FIRST starters, not one of us had more than one little plate of starters each which we were sharing around. To make the experience even worse our order got re-taken THREE times and we were still yet to receive all of our first dishes. On top of the issues with the food they failed to even get any of our drinks orders right and were yet still letting more and more customers into the restaurant if they could make room regardless of the fact that they couldn’t cater for who was already in the restaurant.
