Firstly let me say that the staff in this place are absolutely fantastic, and will bend over backwards to help you out. This place is advertised as "dog-friendly" which is a good thing. As for the past 3 or 4 weeks we have been going down for Sunday lunch as a family, with our small dog. HOWEVER on this occasion we were told, in a very Blunt fashion, after we had ordered our meal, that we were not allowed to sit where we had been sitting for the last 3 or 4 weeks. This being as dogs are not allowed within a certain distance of where the food is being served. However the manageress abruptly and butchery spat out this information to my wife and child in such a fashion that they felt as if they were being told off. And not in a professional curtious manner. Please be aware at present there are no labels or pictures informing the public of this rule. However we were ushered with the dog to the far end of the establishment. Which in my opinion was far too overcrowded with tablesjammed together. If we had a normal sized dog this would undoubtedly have caused a disruption. So my gripe is with the manageress and her none professional attitude towards the public. How can customer's be expected to know these rules if not pre-informed. hence we will think twice about frequenting this place for a meal with our dog. however the meal its self was second to none. And the staff ,all great people Please note. This is establishment has to main doors one of which is closed to the public. Leaving only the other main door. However this door is within the exclusion zone for dogs. I think this establishment i.e. manageress should get her act together and either make it a dog friendly place or not a dog friendly place. IF NOT FOR THE SURELY ATTITUDE OF THE MANAGERESS THIS WOULD HAVE GOT FULL STAR RATING. These are my views, thank you very much...
Read moreBeen looking forward to the Carvery for ages, what a disappointment !! Food was lukewarm apart from the Yorkshire pudding which was cold. Roast potatoes were white and soggy, only wanted two veg, as couldn't choose my own so ended up with half a plate of carrots and turnip soaked in gravy, I think you should be able to put your own gravy, I don't like my dinner swimming in gravy. My partner had the mince and dumpling and this was piled on the plate also swimming in gravy. Dumpling wasn't crisp and a bit soggy, this too was lukewarm with a cold Yorkshire pudding. Used to do lovely freshly cooked roasted, now white frozen pots. Don't know whats happened (I know there's a Pandemic) but its no longer a carvery its a roast dinner. Wouldn't recommend and won't be going back. ...
Read moreWaited 20 minutes until my wife asked one of the staff who would take our order and she said someone would be around shortly as they were very busy.About 10 minutes later a waitress took our order and it's arrived quite quickly. We had both asked for no peas but i got peas and sweetcorn which I was okay just to leave it to one side and we asked for a gravy boat. After a couple of minutes my wife remarked that I'd ate my mashed potato quickly but i didn't get any at all At no time were we offered any salt or pepper or mint sauce which we did without and i presume the gravy boat must have sank as that did not appear either, no one asked us at any time if our meals were okay and we left very very disappointed to...
