DO NOT COME HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I don’t ever give bad reviews but I came here with my mum and this was the worst food we’ve ever had. I had American style pancakes and what I got served was an absolute atrocity. I would be too ashamed and embarrassed if I had made that and wouldn’t dare serve it up to a customer let alone charge money for it! I just would not do it! The whole thing had evidently been microwaved which made the sauce taste disgusting, the pancakes looked store bought (looked nothing like the picture on the menu) and the cream tasted out of date!!! My mum didn’t like her baguette either and said she felt sick a couple hours later so clearly hygiene standards are not being met to say the least…. I could cook better than this, I don’t really ever give bad reviews but the food was embarrassingly disgusting and we will never...

I don't like writing a negative review unless there is good cause to. As regards my experience at this Poppins I can honestly state that the only positive aspect was the value for money. That's the sole reason for giving 2 and not 1 stars. Then it feels very much a 'budget' cafe. The chicken baguette was below par. The chicken felt processed and the salad mainly comprised of a slither of worn out lettuce thrown together with a tomato or two. It all felt so retro in the negative sense. I really felt I had been taken back to 1985. And the service was no better - the waiter actually tried to take away our plates before we had finished! Poppins need to look around at the variety and standard offered by many other cafes with their organic choices and imaginative menus in these modern times..Perhaps a DeLorean time machine...

I used to like eating here but last Sunday myself and my husband were here for lunch and had a bad experience, we had our meals and a hot drink, but we were not impressed that once my husband finished his meal then staff pounced and took his plate even though I was eating still, they did the same thing when he finished his drink before me, it was very rude to be honest, I watched them and they were stood watching the customers and everytime someone finished they pounced and took the crockery, is this the way to act? I always thought food establishments let you finish your meals and once you've left then clean up....such a put off, we won't ever visit here...
