Mexifun — Restaurant in Southampton

We found ourselves in Southampton on a sunny Saturday and, not knowing the city very well, decided we’d have a walk around in hopes of finding a decent place for a late lunch. Mexifun is a small cafe/restaurant tucked away on a side street, so it’s easy to miss; we stumbled upon it completely by chance and I’m so glad we did! The decor in this little restaurant is so cute, cosy, and charming, and we were immediately greeted with a warm hello as soon as we entered. The service continued to be fantastic, with all members of the team being so friendly and helpful. We both ordered the sweet potato burrito (one vegetarian and one vegan) and both loved it; it was delicious and felt super authentic, though if I’m being honest, it was better than many of the burritos I had on a recent trip to Cancun! The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, which are quite large. (I thought I was really hungry but was full after eating only half my burrito; luckily the gentleman who served us was kind enough to pack it up for me to take home, and I can confirm that it was just as tasty eaten cold a few hours later for dinner.) The only “negative” about this place is that we were so stuffed that neither of us had room for the churros, which looked amazing. Can’t wait to come back to Southampton so we can try out a few more items...

This is the best Mexican food in Southampton. The staff are polite, they let you sit with a menu. When you decide what you would like you just them and with in the time of a cigarette or a friendly chat you meal or snack is really to eat. I just wish i could afford to eat here every day of the week. Their menu fits of an A4 doubled side sheet of paper. Their food is valve for money and if you can't eat it all at the time in Mexican bar, then just ask and it can be taken away eaten hot or cold in a takeaway container, and packed into a brown bag for you to eat at your next convince. They chef is always happy to see new and old customers.Masks can be work but I wouldn't advise it whilst trying to eat. They hygiene is 10 out if 10. The dishes are pottery, cutlery is metal and the servetts are bright colours in paper. Extra sauces are available at request. The ingredients are all fresh vegetables and fruit is included. It one of my favorites places to visit, daily weekly and monthly. The staff are always happy to oblige. No sauce or with extra sauce. They will always ask if everything is cooked to your satisfaction. 20 Stars rating out of 10 if that...

The place is amazing, we regularly order a couple burritos and are happy with the whole range, so much so that we haven't tried the other mains as our addiction to the burritos is so intense.

There hasn't been a time we've been disappointed by the food, the service, the wait time or the temperature as it's always on point. We've collected and got it delivered and it has been fast and hot every time.

The front of house are always nice and will give you a time till your order will be ready, I usually wait outside after mentioning I'm here to collect and they will bring it out for you if you're not comfortable waiting inside right now.

The puddings are amazing and I'm a fan of the drink range, but if you're to get any sides I recommend the sweet potato fries with the jalapeno or hibiscus mayos.
